Hi Friends, today we are painting a landscape in a loose style. In full demo on Patreon I am explaining my typical process of painitng a landscape on the example of this one. The goal of this painitng is not to create a masterpiece but to show you the difference between painitng the background, middle and foreground in order to show the depth, light and bring attention to focal area in the painting. I was looking at your patreon but I’m intimidated by all the colors you are using. I’m still using primary colors to lean color mixing. Will I still be able to follow your tutorials and get good results?

Hi Louise, yes, sure, In reality I only use 3 colors: yellow, blue and red: my yellow is Yellow Ochre (b.sienna it's a little darker, but you can add red instead no issues); my red is Cad. Red Light (I also have Alizarin Crimson - cool tone of red, but if you add a bit of blue to Cad.Red it will suffice), and my blue is Cobalt Blue (I also have Ultramarine and Lavender, but you can use Cobalt instead, it doesn't matter at all). The most important part is achieving correct "darkness" and water/paint ratio and I talk a lot about it in my videos. In regards to grey/black, I use N.Tint, but you can just mix all 3 primary colors.

Thanks for the response. The colors I’m currently using is Windsor red, windows yellow, Windsor blue green shade and red shade. The red and yellow I find to be very close to pthalo and very neutral for good mixing. I also use gouache instead of watercolor but I think that will work
