my set up is, frisk stantler, with earthquake and thief, because that is a lot of exp and speed evs wasted running away. if frisk activates switch onto pickpocket weavile. pickpocket works with contact moves. if meowth uses slash and assurance, pickpocket activates. if not, those who used screech and assurance are the ones who to thief. so memorize those who uses screech and assurance. if two amulet coins appears, and weavile got the first one, switch back to stantler then thief. weavile can learn rock smash and dig as well. so you can rock smash the rocks, same lead with the frisk. if frisk activates, thief. they can hold fossils and everstone. then use the spring in the tunnel to heal, then dig out. never had to buy Amulet Coins and Everstones from the GTL again.

Alternatively, instead of teleport, you can heal up north of kindle road at the hot springs! then use dig to escape the cave. alot faster and you never need to surf.

there is a way to get another way easyer money making method. one is a frisk ability pokemon, one for pickpocket ability and thief, and the rest is surf, fly, and any other utility pokemon you would like. same like before. island 1, surf to kindle road, the 1st pokemon is a frisk pokemon. when you find a meowth with a item. switch to the pokemon with the pickpocket pokemon. when meowth attacks you... 9-10 times it will hit and it will get you a item. you kinda have to pay atention cause some of um will get screech. if you can't find the item... use thief for the remaining pokemon. i do not know the ratio of the quick claw vs amulate coin for 1 hour. but i'm guessing it will be 1-3 quick claw for every 1 amulate coin.

tip: instead of using a banette to get the item u can send him first to check if there's items or not and then swap to a weavile with HA

Umh as far as i know weavile's pickpocket only works with physical attacks and isn't working with sp. Atk

Ive been do8ng this method but ive been frisking the rock smash pokemon for fossils, pay daying the grass pokemon till i run out of pp and going into the cave to heal and refresh the rocks and payday its probsbly not as efficient but it works well for me

I think Amulet coins drop rate has been nerfed in the Christmas 2024 update. I’ve been at this for over 2 hours and I have 8 quick claws and 0 amulet coins.

it will work you can just get really really unlucky and go 20+ encounters with no items

I swear the rate on Meowthe holdin amulet coin seems changed i was finding about 7- 10 a hr when I started farming the months ago and now my rng gives me a amulet coin like every 3 resets 😅smh
