Working on my first ever main I was at MLM a couple days ago getting 60 mining for DS2 and I was only there a few hours but, oh... my... god. The lower level of the mine literally had a bot on every wall, in every world. Sometimes 2, 3, even 4 bots all on one wall. I could easily recognize the bots because they would mine one vein then sit there for about 20 seconds to a minute, then mine another vein and do it over again. Occasionally they'd move to a totally random vein in a different spot. Makes it incredibly frustrating for a real human to try and train in the lower level...

Since you mentioned a hammer and how some people carry one, I’m not sure why they would. There are hammers in the crate next to the hopper and you can pick one up as soon as you deposit your pay dirt. Awesome grind! I try to keep up with you with my iron man, TheDeafIron

FYI, unless you're an iron and need uncut gems, don't wear a charged glory because it will replace the ore you're trying to mine and replace it with a gem! Gems are not tertiary!

FYI, doing 4 inventory of 25 is not the most effective. You can get the bag up to 109 I'm pretty sure.

Oh god, PTSD. I went from 83 to 92 mining in motherload with a rune pic axe. Took about a month of afking for hours everyday. 33k xp/hr babyyyyyy. I did end up was a disgusting amount of ores tho. I was so burnt out after that the thought of smithing 40k worth of ores made me take a 2 month break from the game

Mrnosleep did you remember to mention falador elites let off better ores in the despinsor if you have them done. For example one pay dirt can make it more common to get a runite or adamant ore from one pay dirt if falador elites are complete and it only works with elites not hard diaries. Speaking of which for you main accounts out there I think the soft clay makes you more money than the gem bags.

one use for the nuggets is making the sack bigger (200 at percy). I think it holds like 164 or so. Basically you don't have to bank as much and it ups the amount of ores you have

3:29 YES!!! Thank you so much for saying this out loud in public!! The way the mines work on the upper level is that they give an "infinite" number of pay dirt for 20 seconds starting when the first dirt is mined and ending once the first dirt after 20 seconds has been mined. A hundred people could be sat on the same one and everybody would end up with 6-12 dirt depending on your luck. It bothers me to no end to see people separating themselves onto a different mine and then before you know it the entire area is dearth for the next 10 seconds.

someone might have mentioned it already, but you don't need to carry a hammer. there's one in the crate just north of there you deposit the ore you can just grab after depositing it, run around and fix the wheel, then drop the hammer and bank a load of ore while you're over there :P

3:24 The vein isn't item based, it's time based. You have a certain time period to mine the ore before the vein disappears, whereas on the lower levels, you can only mine a specific amount before the vein disappears.

There is no "specific amount" on the lower level, it's a 33% chance to deplete each time an ore is mined. Theoretically you could get a full inventory at one vein

The sac can hold more than you think, so you don’t need to withhold inventory slots. Also, you can upgrade it to hold twice as many by talking to the guy who sells prospector. Oh yeah, there are hammers in the crates north east of the place you deposit your pay dirt

One thing about the Motherlode Mine Upper Level: The rocks have a specific amount of time that they can last for, but it is still more efficient to mine them yourself. When it comes to the very last Ore in the vein (the one that would cause it to despawn), the vein will remain there with one Ore in it until it is mined. Basically, you can get a few more Ores more quickly during each inventory, if you’re mining each Ore Vein by yourself! Hope that helps someone 👍 One more thing: The Ore Sack can hold up to 108 Ore, or 189 with the upgraded sack, I believe! You can bypass the limit by just carrying a Gem Bag to limit your inventories to 27 Ores each, until your 4th or 8th inventory, respectively, which can then be a full 28! You can also obtain free, unlimited Hammers from the nearby Crates (used for fixing the Water Wheels) which you can drop on the last inventory, if you’re not worried about keeping Gems. That will leave you at one Ore away from the limit on the second-to-last inventory (3rd/7th), and it gives you the ability to throw a whole extra inventory in there! I, personally, will keep the Gem Bag on me the whole time, and just take one less Ore per run, so I don’t have to juggle anything!

a lot of things are better xp/gp, but theyre much less afkable. You are sacrificing xp and gp for afking. Gem rocks under shilo is definitely not afkable. Theyre easy and brainless but you can't really do something on the side while afking gem rocks, you need to click every few seconds. MLM is one click every 30 seconds, the veins last that long.
