Lopinot Spanish Heritage Festival 2000. Several parang groups, MTS a la Orden, Los Paranderos de UWI & The Valley Boys Parang Group seranade visitors through Lopinot Village performing Traditional Parang songs, Part of a Trinidad & Tobago Christmas tradition.

I have read all your comments and rebuttals. Parang is TRINI embrace and love it. Parang is in my blood, and when we try to define it, we just kill the mood. I just want to enjoy the music. Parang is parang, don't give me soca parang. I am old school. Soca parang is something else, like when I go to Tobago and we "parang" all night long on the back of the boat. Peace and love.

calypso is also somewhat african culture have you ever visited various culture in west africa i have heard west african music and thought it was tnt calypso i was very surprise could not tell the difference some igbo music sounds like parang music i have heard that too

Yes it still does it use to the Last Sunday in November ,When I lived in T& T 7 years ago and I never miss it
