Had this done just over 2 weeks ago. So far so good. Week one was pretty sore and sleeping wasn't easy but now I'm 16 days on from the op, I can fully weight bear on the leg, and even shuffle along without crutches.

@@devanshpandey7750 I'm still recovering and making good progress thanks. I'm now 7½ weeks post-op and can walk short distances unaided, although with a limp still, and yesterday I managed a 4km walk on crutches. It's brutal for the first few weeks but I'm feeling the benefits now. The more work you put in regarding your physiotherapy, the quicker you will see results. I have no regrets at all.

Hello Derundi Studio Arsitek! Thank you for your question. The indications for use for our Osteotomy System are open-wedge osteotomy on the proximal medial tibia, closed-wedge osteotomy of the medial distal femur, treatment of bone and joint deformities, treatment of malpositions caused by injuries or disorders such as osteoarthritis. Nevertheless, in some cases length corrections might be possible, but this needs to be clarified with the surgeon.

Does the space that is wedged open get filled with anything?

Hello Havocpsi, thank you for your question. There are various biomaterials on the market for this purpose. Whether these are used depends on the surgeon.

I wish this wasn't true, but these osteotomy surgeries ruin people's health and that of all the other people who have them done. The bone where they sawed afterwards doesn't stick properly anymore, it gets weak and it will slide little by little and sink inwards with time. I believe that a bone scar is left or for some other reason I don't know. Maybe it is left with little room to regenerate and becomes weak or another reason. It is not the same as a normal fracture where afterwards the bone becomes normal again. When you sawed it, or break it with a chisel, in this case it is different. The bone is left with a problem afterwards. Then the person gets all twisted because of this, as the bone sinks, it ends up twisting or sinks all the other bones of the body. If they do it in the lower limbs. But everywhere, it ends up disturbing people. Besides that, the nerves around where they do this also sink and leave their original place, and then the person starts to feel everything altered and only starts to feel bad things afterwards. Both in the external environment and in the body itself because of this. This surgery is a mistake in medicine, just as there are mistakes in any other profession. I don't know how it hasn't been forbidden until today, with so many people getting bad afterwards, I'm pretty sure all of them. It doesn't matter if it is done on the nose, leg, foot, heel, people end up getting bad the same way. I hope this comment helps. Take great care, health is very precious. After we lose it, our life becomes very difficult, and so does the life of the people around us, who end up being affected as well. A hug. `

Hi Elmas, how are you? Don't do no such surgeries, don't do them. It's better to use orthesis. All the surgeries that saw or cut the bone, they damage the person's bone afterwards, these surgeries are called osteotomies, and we have to avoid them, because people get problems afterwards. I don't know why they haven't banned osteotomy surgeries yet, with so many people getting problems afterwards. The bone becomes weak and never returns to normal. It slips and sinks inwards little by little over time. Then the nerves around it are also altered, because they go out of their original place, and the person only starts to feel bad things afterwards. It is different from a fracture that afterwards the bone is as strong as before when it regenerates. In this case, it is different, the bone gets a problem afterwards. Hugs.
