The laurel is more dominate in the case that it covers more frequency levels making it feel more apparent but if you just hold back from focusing you might start hearing yanny.

if you truly hear lorale or laurel then your ears are consistent to the low frequencies but eventually your ears will be open to hear yanny at some people if you dont focus to much, like maybe hearing it days later. Consistency is what traps you from hearing things like that.
