That’s not how challenger works. Once their challenge is over they lose the bonus. You can stack challenger with cards like Merlin crab or Charge! Give +X but again that goes away after the challenge is over.

I think you got Challenger wrong! 1) Challenger only works when challenging, not when being challenged. So, it's of no use during the opponent's turn. 2) I don't believe that Challenger stacks with itself if the character challenges multiple times. The strength bonus only applies "when challenging" and not "this turn".

@@TacticalInk IMO the wording of Challenger is pretty clear and shouldn't need any further ruling: "While challenging, this character gets +X" So the bonus only lasts as long as the challenge does

@@TacticalInkI just noticed you used the D23 promo as the example that says “when” it was change to “while” so the buff goes away after the challenge is over I feel like that may be the cause of your confusion.
