Many times I rode my bike to the old farm house down a lane, through the woods - just to see Her and my Uncle (a quiet Vietnam Veteran). They're sung from two different characters' perspectives, actually! The Yawning Grave is "traditional", which means it's sung from a sort of narrator perspective, while Frozen Pines is a particular story of a little girl named Danielle. My reading has always been that, since the Yawning Grave is about somebody opening up the underworld to come back from the dead, Frozen Pines is kind of an inverted narrative, a little ghost girl who doesn't realize she's dead at all and is just looking for the friends she left behind.
