sometimes i wonder: why do african americans and whites in america sing rap ?? because in most singers 80% are rubbish !!! Most American rappers only rhyme about killing each other or threatening, just rhyming calling women a bitch, only rhyming about money and showing gold chains, and most American rappers have lyrics that look more like a Porn movie! !! In Brazil rap has 95% rhyming about social problems, Brazilian rappers rhyming about corrupt cops, about racism, about poverty, about the story of slavery, etc. This is how American rappers sold to illuminatis should rhyme, not sing disgusting pornographic songs and threatened one another !!!

The spirit that resonates in black music & culture doesn't transmit to all peoples at the same frequency, even when other cultural groups learn to imitate black music& culture to a high level. No matter how impressive & accurate they are at imitating black music& culture, when a sister from the church gets up and sings gospel celion Dion , arienda Grande ,Christina Aguilera just ain't resonating on the same wave length . There's nothing to get mad at here Eminem is great in his own right and loved globally .he just ain't every body in authentic rap cultures top 20 and he ain't our crowned king of all time rap, were allowed to feel that way and have that opinion, you keep yours but dont tell a pioneer like LJ what to think about the culture. Look at that white dude( can't remember he's name) who battles Cassidy to give an example how clever metaphors and command of grammar & speed rap is no substitute for a real mc born into the authentic black rap culture with a calm steady flow and a natural use of street knowledge & st8 killer bars resonates as authentic to the culture in a rap battle, while the other side sounds like an angry drunk violent white dude screaming and shouting down the mike like he should be in a death metal band. I didn't feel that White dude 1% but Cassidy was what it's all about. He transmitting on the frequency but maybe you ain't tuned in, or don't have the receiver we got.

Eminem does put words together great. But its some listeners that dont care about that Its also about if the listener can relate to what u saying. @@music66swan Great post. My point about Eminem. He isn't total garbage but just because he rhymes fast like Twista doesn't make him great. Twista actually sounds natural and not roided up. Like you stated Em might have fit in better during the Limp Bizkit, Korn era because he raps like he should have been the frontman of a hybrid rap metal band. Great analogy of when a black lady like Yolanda Adams sings gospel. Celine Dion can sing but she's not going to give us that same soulful effect that Yolanda Adams. I feel the same way about Em compared to Black Thought, Grand Puba, Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Talib Kweli, CL Smooth. Em isn't giving me the same effect as those rappers are. No hate. That's just the way it is. Some people claim Pac is the goat. Yes he may be your goat but not everbody's goat. Everyone has a personal preference.

Red man, says em is in the same category as biggie and pac. Kendrick says best lyricist of all time. The game says he would run from Eminem because he can't be seen by anyone period. Royce says the rap scene is his platform and nobody will ever beat em, period. Yelawolf says em is the best rapper alive and probably ever will be. Tech nine says em is the greatest of all time no debate. But "lord jamar" says he's "okay for a white dude" and even went as far as saying drake is better, and drake doesn't even write his own music. It has nothing to do with race. It has nothing to do with sales. It has to do with respecting greatness. Just like rakim said, real artists respect real artists, it don't matter what color he is you can't take anything away from his thoughts and his pen. Simple as that. I mean you can rap 300 words in a second but what is the point if i'm not interested in what you are saying, this is music not the fucking Olympics dudes! Meanings do count a lot. To me lyrical white artists are Dylan, Reed and Lennon, that is how you get good putting words together, poets can overcome the race differences. 75% of the people commenting here must be slow or something. Jamar clearly said his top 20 list is based on rappers he can relate to as opposed to just having lyrical skill. He can't relate to Em's content the way he can to others, therefore other lesser MC's get ranked higher on his list because he would rather listen to them than Em. There are people who rank Black Sabbath ahead of the Beatles simply because they can relate more and feel their music more. Music is subjective. If Jamar didn't acknowledge Em as a lyrical beast them Em fans would have a legit beef. But Jamar gave Em props for being a dope MC and highly skilled lyricist. That doesn't mean he can't like a bunch of other rappers better even if they aren't on Em's level lyrically.
@lewalcindor93569 жыл бұрын
Gabriel Henrique See, this is where listening is a skill. Jamar CLEARLY said he relates to R.A. the Rugged Man and Vinnie Paz, both white. Jamar said the same thing about not relating to Nicki Minaj and barbie stuff. You all really need to start listening before you critique.

Eminem comes off goofy and caricature of himself after Encore. Think about how slow he rhymed on MMLP, that is controlled confident rhyming and that's why we fuck with that early shit. @erfbgu9 жыл бұрын
Configa Beats you state opinion as if it's fact. First of all there are several rappers that can be interchangeably put into or left out of a top ten list. I mean just off of including legends/pioneers...you could easily get a top ten list leaving out all of the usual 90's candidates (nas, pac, biggie etc). Then with regard to Em you have rappers who are at least comparable to him that don't even make it to the debate (Busta, canibus, royce etc...keep in mind that the conversation is being had not because someone is saying Em isn't one of the best, it's being had because people are running around saying Em is rap god/king). Not only does Busta, royce or canibus get left out of a top 10 list but neither do you have a big debate that is trending on whether or not a Nas is the rap king...or a Biggie, or whoever the usual suspects are for a top mc 's list. Then you say that Em will destroy anyone in a rap battle. How do you conclude that? It's subjective and your opinion; not fact. I personally don't think that Em is so superior as a battle rapper, I'm sure there a decent amount of worthy contenders out there.

Run DMC came out and people started rapping like Run DMC... until Rakim came out. The same thing happened with Ice Cube, people were on that NWA flow, until Snoop came out, then he had people trying to sound like Snoop, until Eminem came out. That was pretty much the peak of lyrical rap. Shortly after that hip hop hit reset and things started dumbing-down. Songs like Knuck If You Buck.. if you can't compete lyrically, you have to come with something else. So here we are riding the Auto-Tune wave for 13 years, this is the longest and most stale phase in history of Hip Hop.

alex navarezz I think you misunderstood what we're saying. We're AGREEING that Eminem is dope and that he doesn't get the credit he deserves because he's white. if he was black, people would have nothing bad to say about him. I'd have to disagree with you on one point though. Lil' Wayne in his prime was AMAZING! You can't tell me that "Lights Out", "Tha Carter" , "Dedication 1 & 2" and "No Ceilings" were wack. Lil' Wayne was spittin' that SHIT on those albums/mixtapes! However, Eminem is arguably the GOAT to me, so I don't know what you mean by "if eminem was black he would be more liked by you black murhafuckas ". Doesn't matter if he's white or black; he's dope AF, which is all that should really matter!

nmryda I agree but I do think he gets privilege because he white and black people know that so that makes some black people neglect him....which Eminem talks about Alot it's like when Earl Sweetshirt said to black for the white kids and to white for the black...where does Eminem fit in really? because he didn't live the suburban white kid life style he lived the lifestyle of poor trailer trash white kid in a black good of Detroit of all places now think about how backwards that is for him but he stuck out because he was the one white kid on the black side of the train tracks he talks about it Alot so I think if he was black he would be able to relate to blacks more because he slick kinda does but he's still white so annoying ass fans turn people off I just want people to understand that's not Eminem's fault lol.

I've been an Eminem fan since the beginning, when he dropped the My Name Is video on Much Music in early 99. So I like all his crazy Slim Shady shit like Slim Shady EP & LP, The Marshall Mathers LP & Devil's Night. Then i found from 2002 until 2008 he toned down big time and just did more emotional / mainstream type of shit, and lost his edge. But I started really really liking him again once he did Bad Meets Evil & Shady XV, because in my opinion, out of all his newer stuff, those are the only 2 albums that are reminiscent of his early Slim Shady 1997-2001 type of shit.

Right now I feel Kendrick is much more relevant and I dig him much more, in comparison. J Cole is debatable and Lil Wayne definitely not.

He acts like black people don't hold him in high regard too. And does he really think white people weren't into hip hop before? Who do you think was buying straight outta compton to generate that many sales? Anyone who doesn't put Em top 5 is just hating. Even if you don't like his voice, you would have to be wilfully ignorant to deny his combination of technical ability, lyricism, wit, freestyling skills, ability to employ various styles and flows that all sound like they could be his normal style. Plus his quality as a pure emcee has been consistent too. The guy is insanely talented and all those factors combined are the reason why many other rappers consider him goat. Even back when his first album dropped, I remember one of the hip hop magazine ended an article with "don't hate him because he's white, hate him because he's the best there is at what he does"
