I had the Mayweather argument with a white friend of mine. He said Floyd annoys him because he 'blows money' on expensive cars. So Floyd spent $3mill on a Bugatti: Floyd earns about $150mil a year so a $3mil car represents about 2% of his income and it has a lot of retained value. I told my friend he makes $35,000 a year and drives a $22,000 car. That represents a whopping 65% of HIS total income! So now who is really 'blowing money'??? He goes 'oh I didn't think of it that way'. The debate ended immediately

That stuff Jamar said about having time and looking 20-30 years into the future not being ideal was some real shit. When I was about 7 years old growing up in east Chicago. Between just going to the corner store and going to school and seeing my environment, I remember thinking "I aint gonna make it up to 17. Ima either get killed or end up in prison before I see that". Some wild shit for a kid that young to be thinking. Seeing the ages of 20's and 30's and being alive or or not being locked up was a dream within a dream. Reason I thought that was because of how the people that hung on the corner of the corner store looked, the peopke and cars that drove by, and how dead bodies would be found in alleys around us. I knew I'd have to protect myself and I would eventually end up dead from retaliation or caught by the police for murder. By the grace of God, my mom moved us out of there not too long after that. This was in the late 80's that this happened. And I was always mad confused when gangsta rap hit the air waves and people thought that shit was cool. Like, to be from that environment or to live like that was something to look up to and seen as "cool". I don't understand why we as a people live like that. It's really not fair. Not caring about your life and shooting people don't make you no man or tough. My 5 year old nephew can pull a trigger. Being like that only drags everything around you down. Just cause you don't give a fuck about being free, you gotta fuck up everyone elses lives. I don't wanna be locked up with a bunch of dudes and eating nasty ass food. Blacks and latinos got so much potential as people, but we so easily throwin all that away, and for what?

The point he is making isn't about the money itself, it's about black people/ minorities mentality when it comes to money. Dont spend your money on bullshit like $200 Chinese made Jordan's but live in a 1 bedroom apartment with a $600 monthly rent. Floyd may weather is setting a bad example because he shows off his flashy lifestyle, which he can afford, but how about the other 90% of blacks who can't? They still want the Mercedes, they still want the Gucci outfits, so even if they don't have a high paying profession will drop their entire paycheck on some bullshit so they can "appear" to be rich to their peers. Again, all while living in a 1 bedroom apartment with no money in their savings. The mentality has to change.

Alvin Melancon I dont understand y they trying to deny that bro I'm not a big Mayweather fan but to deny that having a net worth between 700-1billion isnt paid r wealthy is crazy. That can last for multiple generations. Hes almost a billionaire and there are less than 1700 billionaires in the whole world.

He is talking about some next level thinking of our society.He is giving a broader perspective of Floyd and people with his level of money versus the upper echelon of billionaire in America and how they think.Floyd has money but he debt think on the level of the billionaire people. Which is true based on how Floyd spends his money.Floyd $280 mill,Puff Daddy $600 mill,Jay Z $500mil, and so on. There are plenty of people that have more money than Floyd that are not billionaires.Look at how Floyd waste his money on bullshit! he has more cars than the average billionaires do.

He honestly thinks that giving his opinion is a gift to people.. You're not always right Jamar, someones gotta say it.. I respect the ambition to want to form opinions and have debates on issues, but it seems like Vlad asks him questions about stuff he hasn't really looked into.. Like why ask his opinion on Will Smith doing politics? And why does Jamar instantly think that the Democratic party (he didn't specifically say them, but that's who he would obviously try to run with) is gonna pick him to be their frontrunner for president? If you honestly believe that the Democratic party is going to pour millions into Will Smith, then you clearly just don't understand the political environment we've been in for the last 30 years... IF they DID pick Smith to be their main act, then it just means that Will Smith is completely corrupted, and willing to do the bidding of the Elites that chose him to be their candidate.. It means that he's going to be a black man that they can show off, and then use him to take more money from the poor and give it to the rich..

@rsuriyop6 жыл бұрын
Floyd is only as rich as the amount of money that he saves. But the guy spends like crazy. So how much money he got left in his account is something only Floyd himself know. He might not be THAT rich at all when you come to think about it.
@logicsfinest34715 жыл бұрын
rsuriyop you’ve totally misunderstood this vid. Saving money will never make you wealthy. Working people think to save money. Wealthy people understand it’s about income producing assets. Nothing else matters. The intrinsic value of the assets plus the income produced by those assets creates wealth. Sitting on a pile of money is the mindset of poor people. That works in books and fairy tales.

the statements about Floyd are inaccurate, he is "paid" he owns his company he puts up the money for his fights from his own pocket, and reaps the most benefits, literally NO ONE gets paid more than him on an individual basis ,u can Showtime or pay per view on a corporate level but on an individual level nobody gets paid more than Floyd. When a fighter goes into the ring with Floyd Floyd is the one who pays them there is an article about Floyd 20 year career the first 10 years he was an employee the last 10 years he was an owner and they break down his money trust me Floyd is smart he might not be able to read very well but his money sense is solid gold. don't forget FLOYD is the highest earning athlete on the planet and he pays himself he isn't paid by other ppl, he's a CEO not an employee

12:12 "280 million aint shit".. I have now officially heard it all in my life. That is the stupidest fucking thing ever said. Essentially what Jamar was saying was is if you aren't one of the handful of wealthiest people in the world, you don't have money, and even if you are worth almost $300 million, "it aint shit". Then Jamar said "the guy who owns Zappos is worth $800 million, way more than Mayweather". Does Jamar really think there is ANY difference in lifestyle between a person who has $800 million and a person who has "only" $280 million? Their lifestyles are identical. Only a fool would say $280 million isn't shit..
@JustinBlazzzee9 жыл бұрын
Shelton Young Spoken like a fool. Maybe you and Jamar just don't have a proper command of the English language, but to describe being in the top 1-10th of the top 1 percentile of wealth in the world as "aint shit" is moronic. Do you see how you referenced a man who sold his company for $3 billion? You literally just said "having $300 million aint shit because theres a person (or maybe 13 or 14 out of 7 billion) in the entire world who has $3 billion". Stupidity in our community is far too common..
