They’ll ask what you need, advise you where to go (& where not to go) shopping, where to eat, where to get a hair cut, get weed etc, might set you up with some locals that will pay you for verses or beats. Sometimes they can provide protection if needed & serve as a buffer between yourself & anybody thinking about beefing with you. You extend the same courtesies to others when they slide to your city. whois slade 50 was actually about that life for one thing, tekashi came up not rich but certainly not poor from my understanding. Apparently he had a decent job and some opportunities but chose to try rapping, and then developed the gangster shit as that went on. His super early shut wasn't nearly as gang related lyrically or sonically. 50 started from the streets, and rapped about the streets without being obnoxious. Tekashi started rapping, then started rapping about the streets, and then started acting obnoxious to try to compensate. I like both of their music a lot, but you're comparing Apple's to oranges, there's no similarities between the two really other than they both were new Yorkers who at some point wrote gangster rap
