Watch his podcast with fullsend. He was talking about how merab is a tough fight. After watching that I knew he wasn’t confident. It’s more than the event overwhelmed him. He was already defeated because he knew merab is dangerous fight for him.

My only question is, did he choke so bad as to losing the belt in a decision ? Normally you have to beat the champ (aka knock out, blow out decision st Pierre style) ? I didn’t watch the fight so that’s why I’m wondering , it seems strange

​@eddie5843 O'malley definitely lost. The lopsided decision was the results. O'malley wasn't ready or able to handle Merab style. He looked desperate and scared. Merab, on the other hand, was having the time of his life. He was having a ball. Handled O'malley quite easily. Almost choked him out once.

I agree that the production quality was very high there were some things visually that looked amazing on a large flat screen TV. I would also say that there were times where I almost felt motion sickness because of the sphere. It did not translate to TV as good as Dana makes it sound. There was very little crowd noise and there were strange video and audio delays. It wasn't a great event and I think this exposed the limitation of sporting events in the sphere. The UFC put on the best event that they could but I certainly wouldn't do it again.

Flawless production.. the broadcast audio was all over the place. The corner mics were super loud and times you could not hear the commentators. Seemed like they were having problems with echos too.

Agree....with Umar, Merab and Cory at the top of the division, Omalley isn't getting back to the belt. He got an easy run, courtesy of Dana who saw him as a potential star. But he doesn't have an ounce of charisma, terrible on the mic, and can't defend a decent takedown. Merab showed everyone the path to victory over sean.
