Why wouldn't the Lord keep someone faithful? If the Lord would so decide to NOT keep someone faithful, what's that prayer going to change about it?

Salvation does NOT depend on OUR faithfillness - but GOD'S faithfullness! "I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you"! EVERYONE has FAILED GOD at one time or another- even JOHN THE BAPTIST while imprisoned, sent his disciples to verify if Jesus was the Christ! Yet Jesus said of John that "there was NONE GREATER than John"!

Explain?
@minorsingingairheadАй бұрын
@@johnIII8211 I don't consider John MacArthur to be faithful to Scripture in many ways. His Calvinism is, of course, the obvious example. Faithfulness goes beyond avoiding gross sins like those committed by Art Azurdia or Steve Lawson. Teachers will receive stricter judgment (James 3:1). Maximally influential teachers like MacArthur will receive maximally strict judgment.

@@minorsingingairhead I think John MacArthur would disagree with you. I'm fairly certain the only label he would accept or choose is "Christian". It's a worldly thing to say, "I am of Paul" or "I am of Cephas" or "I am of Calvin...Arminius...Wesley", says Paul...

This man needs to stop hateful attacks on fellow Christians on public forums. He must understand the damage that is done, the grief to the Holy Spirit and the eternal consequence of bringing accusation and hateful comment against those of differing Biblical understanding of the work of the Holy Spirit. Bearing false witness and hating your brother is no small issue. There is a place for disagreement, but not on public platforms where the unbelieving people will see when we have no love for one another. Learn how to disagree in love. Anything else is rooted in pride.

If you were to proclaim biblical truth that differed from Johns, wouldn’t that make YOU a false teacher using your own line of thinking? Just because you don’t agree doesn’t make HIM false. Just because truth offends you it doesn’t make it wrong. Any preacher can preach love all day everyday. God chose John and gave him boldness of speech and a heart of study.

@@AllSven Ephesians 2:10 for we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared before hand that we should walk in them( that’s why we are created) in Matthew, we read about the Pearl of great price and the hidden treasure that is exactly being saved and sanctified you give everything up, and it comes at a great cost just to find the hidden treasure and the Pearl of great price in simple language, we can compare our heavenly father to our earthly father, who is longing for a child to love to give him joy to follow his path and to bring honor to him.
