There is some poetic beauty in this song being so criminally underappreciated in ESC. I'm not German, but I somehow immediately could tell that there is something very "german" about this music, it's like blending elements of German 80s pop aesthetic and some Rammstein rizz along other elements. It's a really good song and I'm in love with it, please don't think of it as a loss; this years lineup was very tough.

I'm from Poland and despite that, I think this performance should rank much better than us. I think most of the negative viewer ratings are because of the makeup. It amazes me that people are still surprised that artists on stage have costumes and painted faces. The problem is also the fact that many people still do not like Germany. And people from my country perfectly confirm this by commenting on Polish articles about Eurovision. Most of the negative comments are insulting the country, not the song itself

Toller Kommentar! Ich bin mir allerdings sehr sicher, dass LOTL mit dem Hass gerechnet haben. Dem haben sie sich in ihrer Karriere leider schon häufiger stellen müssen und haben mit den T-Shirts oder der Aufarbeitung in Songs, einen Weg gefunden selbst damit umzugehen. I don't listen to metal music at all but this song is beyond good. This is great for both their audience and Eurovision's audidence as well. The idea and the vision is very clear, I can just imagine how well this would deliver on Eurovision stage. This is a potential Top-10 entry and the best one Germany has ever had for so long. Germany choose this.

Ich bin 51, komme aus Oldenburg, habe 5 Jahre bei Euch in der schönen Stadt Hamburg (Studium Uni Berlin H) gelebt und bin seit meiner frühen Jugend in den 80er (Extrabreit waren mehr als geil) mit Aufkommen der Metal-Szene seit Accept, dann Metallica usw. zum Metalhead geworden, obwohl meine unteilbare erste Liebe nach wie vor den Beatles gilt. Cut- Ich habe Euch erst durch die Ankündigung im ESC Vorentscheid wirklich wahrgenommen, aber Ihr habt mich alten Sack gehookt! Ich habe daraufhin wie ein Teenie gevotet (d?) und angerufen wie ein Blöder-aber wir alle waren zum Glück zusammen eine Macht und haben es geschafft, Euch nach Liverpool (Ich bin im Herzen immer noch ein Beatles Fan) zu bringen. Ich finde, wir alle können Euch feiern, weil Ihr einfach klasse seid, sollten aber auch uns feiern, denn wir, die wir Musik lieben, von Accept bis Zappa, machen zusammen mit Künstlern wie Euch diese Welt, in der momentan nichts mehr so richtig zu laufen scheint, ein kleines Bisschen besser. Der Wettkampf gibt dem ESC zwar die gewisse Würze, doch im Grunde geht‘s doch darum die Vielfalt zu feiern. Ich habe noch keinen deutschen ESC-Beitrag so oft gehört, wie „Blood and Glitter“ und fühle mich durch Lord Of The Lost großartig beim ESC repräsentiert. Wenn es nicht den Geschmack der Mehrheit trifft, kann ich wunderbar damit leben.
