Got to be honest this comment is wildly contradictory. If they were not to skip any story the pace would be horrendous, but if they were to have good pace parts of the story would be skipped. I hope they dont skip the story but worthless dinner scenes that plagued the first volume. Or at least speed them up.

I meant they shouldn't skip story events and dialogues. But when it comes to pacing, they should make it faster through skipping ONLY the writer long descriptions of places, clothes feelings etc, but on the other hand these details should be shown through the visuals like character designs, facial expressions, backgrounds and even the voice acting.

It doesn't change the fact that the first 30 chapters are unbearable because every single chapter the author has to write a description of Klein mashing the potatoes and whiffing in the fragrance of the beans. Show the parts with Melissa, not him endlessly cooking every episode, it gets insufferable.

​@@Lesg625 In all honesty, volume one is the MOST suited for an adaptation, since it's written in an episodic format with a grand reveal at the end. It's also the most condensed with most scenes being necessary for world building/plot development. Not to mention it's one of the shortest volumes. If they adapt the following volumes they'd likely stick to the major arcs, cutting out a lot of the content in between.

Not sure how the animation will turn out, but this studio is among the biggest 2d studio in China. Their other work like Mo Dao Zu Shi, A Will Eternal, The King's Avatar(season 1)... Edit: A Will Eternal remain the best 2d donghua for me.

Soul Land has 2.97 million words(336 chapters), it animation adaption air on 2018, and just ended this year. This is the first Chinese animation that at non-stop weekly release. They currently airing Soul Land 2. Soul Land 2 has 5.07 million words, with 622 chapters. More and more big IP animation are targeting for weekly non-stop airing. Lord of Mysteries has 4.46 million words......It's not very far from A Will Eternal. And since A Will Eternal studio is the one making it, if this animation gather enough view/ attention, it definitely going to adapt the whole book.

But in term of overall animation as a show, it is not the best 2d chinese animation, for me, that title belong to A Will Eternal, which create by the studio that doing this LOTM. The studio also did The King's Avatar season 1 and its movie. Other studio stuff like Spare Me Great Lord also pretty good overall. A Will Eternal till now, remain the biggest chinese 2d animation series. Chinese animation overall more on 3d.
