Farewell just means good-bye. In Quenya it is literally "Namárië", Galadriel's song of parting. Sancho Panza was Don Quixote's servant. There are a few other Spanish names among the hobbits e.g. Jago (Iago, Spanish for James as in Santiago); Vigo (the port city, well-known in British history). Bilbo is a kind of steel from Bilbao, but also something rude. Tolkien liked Spanish which he learned from his guardian, Father Morgan, who was half-Spanish. "Expect me when you see me" is quite common in Britain, I don't think Tolkien invented it. It's clear from the next chapter that Gandalf is disturbed by Bilbo's behaviour and guesses this might be the One Ring; this is why he looks troubled.
