Really enjoying this set! It is the first time I've purchased MTG cards since Revised, Fallen Empires, and Ice Age when they were new back in the early '90s. Pulled a One Ring (foil), Orcish Bowmasters (foil), Balin's Tomb, and several other decent cards out of one LoTR box. First time seeing foil cards too... things sure have evolved over the years! I credit Rudy's channel with rekindling my interest in MTG. Definitely miss buying Revised packs for less than 3 dollars back in the day though!

A testament to the power and influence LOTR has had on fantasy and adventure, and imagination an SOO Many franchises. Basically everything lol Star Trek wouldnt have had Vulcans or Klingons without Elves and Dwarves, there would be no Dungeons and Dragons, No Forgotten Realms and Drizzt Do'Urden, no Warhammer Fantasy or even 40K. Meh, idk. There's too much money in printed cards. Yeah they have more control in digital cards but idk, it's just not the same. I have the MTG arena app and it's pretty damn good. But I prefee to play actual paper magic any day. Nothing beats the feel of putting together a deck with actual cards, sleeving them, then playing with them. Even if people quit playing paper you'll still have collectors that drive the prices up. There's just no way they quit printing paper magic when they just had the most successful product in magic history.

I honestly hate the success this set has had. The mechanics aren't all that well designed, the references to LotR don't work at all for many cards, the art design is not befitting and the whole race-swapping is, mildly said, disrespectful towards Tolkien's work.
