The Vanyar are my favorite clan of Elves. I don't know why exactly because there is so little about them.

Wonder what happend to Imin since he couldn't die of old age and the only way to die back that far would have been if Morgoth took him or he was killed by the "Great Beasts".

Based on Tolkiens later writings he would have surrendered clan leadership to new generations even within centuries. The very earliest elves felt themselves age faster than later generations as they could not comprehend the weight of their immortality until Oromë showed up. If he was not killed and re-embodied or turned into an orc he is likely in a quiet part of Valinor in retirement with the first generation of elves.

CivX, thank you for the nice clip! It helped me wrap my mind around the topic of the skills of 1/4 vanyars like Finrod and Galadriel - respectively - song duel with Sauron and the destruction of Dol Guldur(= Luthien & Tol-in-Gaurhoth) to name possibly the greatest. In my opinion these skills come from the vanyar heritage and the closeness with Manwe. Vanyars song magicians, Noldor magic crafters, Teleri hmmm Shipbuilders, sailers and nobility for the wood elves :)

I always thought the Vanyar as the most elite elves, don’t get me wrong the Noldor and Teleri are some of the most elite warriors Ea has seen I always saw the Vanyar as the mysterious and strongest of all the elven clans in terms of martial might.
