Keeping the sabbath to the Lord is good... but if someone needs your help you can put your heart in help him up. some saturdays my mom needs help with some works (she doesnt keep it yet) i help her couse i must obbey her as command of God. Someday soon all my family will keep it and sanctify through the Lord. mean while Lord of sabbath we are in Christ Jesus. Amen.

But I do believe that if one were to be in cold, inclement weather, it would have been essential to have a fire to stay warm. That to me would be like the spirit and life of the Torah. If someone is going to freeze to death because they don't lite a fire because it is the Sabbath, I believe that they are missing the point! Shalom

The point of not kindling a fire is that you are prepared. You can have a fire, but it is the fire from the day before, preparation day, and you have enough wood gathered to make it all day without the fire going out. Its all about being prepared,

If my child wants porridge oats on the sabbath can I cook it? I once forgot it was the sabbath and cooked some oats but later remembered and I feel so terrible for it. Is that considered as kindling the fire? Someone pls help answer this.

kindling a fire is done by rubbing two sticks together until you get a flame. It is a lot of work to start a fire that way. I do not feel that placing something in the oven or microwave fits into that category.

@So Mummish The Sabbath is to be a delight. The New Testament gives us an example about the ox in the ditch on the sabbath and how you should help your neighbor . He healed on the Sabbath and said who wouldn’t do good on the Sabbath? All to say in my opinion you would be wrong not to help someone eat, etc.

So I am guilty of this .I wasn't shore what I can do .I thought cooking and cleaning washing dishes was considered work .as well as driving buying something.can someone clearify???

Thank you for putting so much time into your response I appreciate your time. You mentioned you go to church I was wondering what church you go to. I am in search of a church home myself. It's very hard to find something that's not into celebrating holidays which I'm trying to stay away from. It's hard to find a place that observes the Sabbath as well as teachers straight from the Bible not just feel good gospel which is what I have encounter for the most part.

From my understand of Son of Man is referring to those whom where born of Man which can apply to all who are born of human parents, except Adam or Yahshua. Adam and Yahshua were directly born of God and therefor are called the Son’s of God. What’s unique about Yahshua is that he is both a Son of Man and Son of God. His Father is not human but God but he was also born from a human (Mary). So when he said the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath, could this be saying the Sabbath was made for Man not Man for the Sabbath. Meaning the Sabbath was created to serve us not Man to serve the Sabbath. This is why man is allowed to do good works on the Sabbath. We honor God when we rest from our selfish work but exceptions for helping those in need. God does not need a day of rest, he rested for man’s sake. When we are born again by the Spirit of the Father we also become the son’s/daughter’s of God.

So basically when He said the Sabbath was made for men not men for the sabbath, was because they were molding men their way to the sabbath (making men for the sabbath) instead of letting the sabbath make them. But they were being so hypocrites that they will kill on the sabbath (evil work) because someone did a good work. It was more like I want to punish you not because you broke the sabbath but because you broke my rules. Lol I wonder if they had the right intentions or they were just wanting to have everybody under control to gain power. Theres lots of Pharisees today in this time. These are there rules; •Suit and tie to preach on a pulpit. •Must have bible school to be a pastor. •Preaching must not exceed 1 hour. (Ive seen lots of people saying time is up) and is like they’re forced to stop! •Must go to bible school to be a missionary. •No one has better understanding than the pastor. •This must be the order, hymns, announcements, prayer request, hyms, offering, preaching, hyms. Or something like that. You can’t just go and cut those extras if you have a longer preaching, no! You cut the preaching. In other words You sacrifice the preaching! Which it’s supposed to be the Holy Spirit preaching through you, its ok to cut Him off. •You must agree to your denomination doctrine, if no you are a heretic. •You cannot question your Pastors authority. •Some places you can not have beard if you’re going to preach. • etc, etc, etc. This is why we are where we are today. No one stands up like Jesus and questions anyone or anything. No one challenges these things.

Gregory Meyer Amen to that. I try not to complain but I cant help to see those that proclaim that are called by God doing this. I don’t expect to see perfection for neither Im perfect. If they didn’t put them selfs all up there I wouldn’t mind. But putting your self up there and playing games with the Gospel is disrespectful. Thats why I don’t put my self up there. Im just a student that repeats what God already has stated.

Let me tell you I have built many fires and burnt up false doctrines...so I know how to start a fire! Anyway, I wasn't sure about the "no fire" thing...so I loaded up my fire box like normal....That fire wouldn't light for nothing so yah I even tried to add to the fire...I got nothing! Yah I'm not starting a fire ever again on Sabbath! No way!
