Lord Rassilon Addresses The Dalek Emperor - Gallifrey Time War 4 Big Finish

I got bored and decided to add visuals to this amazing bit from the Big Finish boxset Gallifrey Time War 4. It's not the best I'll admit.

This scene is actually very interesting when you take into account how the war ends. The Daleks surround Gallifrey, bombing it to ruin, with only the Doctor ultimately saving his people from outright oblivion, and even then the Time Lords never properly recover, becoming nothing more than a sad, broken remnant by the time Hell Bent rolls around. Plenty of people compared the Time Lords and the Daleks to each other during the war, but it's actually a delicious piece of irony that here it is the Time Lords (or at least just Rassilon) laughing at the "pitiful" Daleks, while once it's over it's the Daleks dominating time and space while their old foes rot in their city, much like the Daleks once did on Skaro so long ago...

They was about to bring the end of time and become beings of higher plane, not bound to cause-effect. That's why Rassilon is laughing at them. Doctor didn't allow it in season 4 remember?

@@peasantlord135 Yep, but the Daleks were still going to blast them into oblivion once the Ultimate Sanction failed; the General did say that the High Council's plan "has already failed" after Arcadia fell. And look at them during Hell Bent; trapped in their city, impotently shouting at the Doctor while he shoots the General and steals another TARDIS. So while I do understand your point, I feel that my argument still stands.

@@Wanten-the-stormtrooper I think they meant another plan. Because before Rassilon attempts the Final Sanction, the Doctor hadn't stolen the Moment yet. He steals it when the General entered the War Room in Day of the Doctor. Yet, they talk about the Doctor's plan to use the Moment before deciding to use the Master as a link.

Rassilon's just as much of a megalomaniac as the Dalek Emperor here, no wonder the Doctor ended up butting heads with his fellow Time Lord. The Rassilon vs Dalek Emperor argument here would be like Hitler and Stalin arguing back and forth with each other if they'd met.
