This is a lesson everyone who plays at church in the band or sings in the choir has to learn - well said sir
@jaylene.turner65242 жыл бұрын
God is the only one that can move the souls. Singers and musicians have to be under the anointing.
@rachelmm052 жыл бұрын
This is true ... the Lord spoke this to me many years ago... let your singing be a result of your daily worship. In prayer I asked and the Lord said again.. then after much prayer I figured it out... the Sunday hype stuff didnt mean anything if my personal walk with the Lord was a mess. At the time I was just performing but outside of Sunday it was little to go on spiritually. I'd come and sing and give my best even to the point of going home exhausted. And the reason why was cause I was giving my all for 1 day but I lacked worship the rest of the week. It was a difficult lesson but I thank God i was able to see the difference. Now when I sing its flowing from a genuine connection.

We must learn to step back. allow GOD to move forward!! Only then can we be SERVANTS!! Bravo BRO!!

When I was younger, I learned a valuable lesson. Very often I heard after the service people were blessed and touched during the praise and worship. And in my mind I was like wait what?! With that many errors and mistakes I had made! And I made a lot of errors, I tell you! But I leaned it is not the music but it’s Gods Spirit touching the people. The music is just the vessel He uses, even if it has scarfs or bruises. Nowadays I play a lot better though 😅

I shared this with my team. There are plenty times when the people look bored (i myself didn't feel blessed)...then some people suddenly came to me after service, telling me they were crying and blessed! That's when I realized that when God moves, HE MOVES ! regardless of what we servants play or feel during service. That's when I learned trust that He's doing something despite me not feelin it 😉

As a praise dancer, I often need to learn this lesson. Sometimes God speak I’m a still small voice. A singer named Jason Upton said “ Sometimes out loud praise can be a manifestation of our doubt.”

Yesss! I can't stand when a worship leader or musician don't see folks praising God, they automatically assume that you're not worshiping. So they keep pushing the song. Then got the nerve to say, 'I don't see nobody praisin" or "y'all playin out there". If that doesn't work, now they want to talk to get people going. Like STOPPP! It doesn't mean we ain't listenin, or enjoying the song. Plus, everybody praises in their own way and sometimes folks are just not feelin it. Doesn't mean the choir didn't sing to the best of their ability, or the musicians didn't tear it up. I've been in the choir where we sung awesome, musicians were on point, but no one stood up or clapped. I heard an Amen somewhere that was it, but I didn't let that discourage me. We had a blast up there!

Just adding that this confirmation has happened to me long ago. Just playing soft music and hymns a mother just started crying. After church, she informed me how the Holy Spirit was just working on her through the soft music. Changed my perspective on the "hype" music since. Quiet time is power time.

You're right, and the Lord moves in many ways, some people worship and feel God's presence by closing their eyes, listening intensely to the words of the song, some sway from side to side, with their hands lifted in praise. There are some that cry within, cryout, moan, run, jump, and even laugh in the Spirit. Either way His presence is felt, is beautiful! 🙂

In church, the music is to express and enhance the feelings generated by the theology. In other words, we're excited about God and music is the byproduct. If we're excited about great playing and singing merely we might as well be at a Silk Sonic concert.

If I yet pleased men, I should not be a servant of God. We do all things to the glory of God. Just be that vessel suited for God's use. The quickest way to spoil a minister is to tell him how wonderful he is. This is not to say he shouldn't be encouraged. Grace and Peace.
