Summary in 10 tips: 1) Build chords around the melody because the melody is key. (Pun intended) 2) When playing transitional chords focus on what the melody does and especially where you want to go rather than playing random chords. 3) P 4) R 5) A 6) C 7) T 8) I 9) C 10) E

Forbidicus 27.9-2 Always keep thy melody in yo hedz. Keep focus on the outside notes. Strong bass movement and top note of chord moves smooth not jumps then the inside note don't matter that much. And as Fobidicus sez don't step on the melody with your chord voicings.

The melody is the path and chords are the vehicle the melody rides to the destination. How many chords and the timing in which they are added takes the melody up, down or through the song.

The emphasis on the melody is so true! there are some who want to do those "decorative" chords right away without thinking of the melody first that's why even if it's a beautiful chord, it sounds kinda off. It's important to start with the basics first. The basics may seem boring and easy but it is the most important building blocks.

Music is an exact representation of life itself. It doesn’t matter how you get somewhere. Just as long you land where you want to go. We’re all playing different instruments and vibing to our own variations. But true harmony is when we all know where we need to land in the end.

You have to know music theory, so you can know your chords, knowing circle of fifths progressions to know how to resolve, so you can know where to go. That’s making me want to start practicing, again. I didn’t stay patient with it, so I stopped practicing my keyboard. You’re making me want to start, again.

There is one point where I don't agree with this teacher. I know a few things about music theory and understand the circle of fifths forward and backward(which would make it the circle of fourths lol) None of that changes changes the fact this man is top shelf strong as a musician. (and he's hilarious when he wants to be)
