These lyrics. So intelligent. I still have trouble believing how young she is, considering some of the stuff that comes out of her mouth. Compare her to other pop singers of today, none of them speak such profound words in their music. I love Lorde for offering something different. She doesn't focus on the opposite sex constantly either.

The more I watch this AMAZING video, the more I fall in love with it (and the people). This video shows that we are not perfect; that we all have our own unique quirks that we are known for and endear us to the ones closest to us. It's true, that most times, our most loveable features are overlooked. Words can't describe how much I love and appreciate this video!

Followed Lorde since this video, shortly before Pure Heroine dropped. Crazy watching someone blow up from a solid EP to an amazing, bad ass artist. I remember watching Nirvana get inducted into the Hall Of Fame and Lorde shows up to sing All Apologies. With Dave and Krist, sharing a stage with Joann Jett and Kim Gordon. May be weird but I felt proud of her, she killed that performance. I can't wait to see where she goes next.

what's wrong with sex? I don't think sex has to be seen as a negative thing. Oversexualizing maybe, but there is something to be said for the extremes. If you listen to a song that causes you to think: "that's crazy bull shit" the art is still successful, even if you may not agree with the message the artist intended you to take from it, it's still causing a reaction. Not to say that all art needs to be have a specific meaning or message.
@2cool011 жыл бұрын
Carly Bruce that is the most bullshit i have ever heard. nothing is wrong with sex first of all but you can't talk just about "give it to me give it to me" " i'm gonna get it from you" like what the fuck is that bullshit. and if you say art is like what you just said then every single thing is art isn't it? if smelling shit after someone takes a dump in the bath room and that causes a reaction then is that art? come on now.....art is something that is CREATIVE and shows EXPRESSION to the human condition. it SHOULD mean something. if you think that modern rap or some pop songs are art then you must be high as fuck.
@sweet1hippo11 жыл бұрын
oh lawd. Save me from your ad hominem. (Google it.) First of all, I go to an art school, and one of the many courses available to take is a course known as "Non-trad" that of non traditional art. We have done projects with animal hearts in jars, and gummy bears in meat grinders. The course works to stretch the limits of what art is. Some well known works in this genre could be the woman who vomits on canvases, and the currently trending woman who knits from her vagina. No, smelling someones feces is not art, because it's not being displayed. Neither is opening your fridge and grabbing an apple, as there is no audience. I never said that simply reacting to something is art, I said that art CAUSES a reaction. Be that a negative or positive one. Songs that say: "give it to me give it to me" as you so eloquently put it, do in fact express something. They express the need and want of sex, hormonal ecstasy, and the feeling of being "horny." I find it ironic, as I checked out your channel and you made a playlist containing a song by Mac Miller that has lyrics in it that read as follow: "Ugh I got codein in my cup, you can bet your ass I'm sippin' Groupies fall in love, I’m like bitch you must be trippin’ I’m just tryna fuck and she just need tuition" She just needs tuition, sort of implies prostitution in my eyes. But hey, if you want to listen to that music and then turn around and talk about how you're "sew against dat music" then okay, that is your opinion and I respect that. But there is something to be said for females using strongly sexual songs, as if anything I personally find it liberating and feminist. I feel it reverses slut shaming and works to create a sex positive stigma for women, however by your standards that would fit in with the rest of the "bullshit" art. But hey! you don't make music or seem to be an artist so obviously you're super qualified to know what art is. Thanks for the "fucking high" comment as well, it totally proved your point. Also, in the future, CAPITALIZING certain WORDS doesn't really HELP YOUR argument. It just look a BIT ridiculous and DOESN'T actually ADD emphasis. 。◕‿◕。
