Fremen bond just means you've played another Fremen card this round (not alliance). It's actually in the rule book.

I just had my smoothest victory ever with Ariana. Had the Fremen Alliance and a lot of Bene Gesserit cards. I kept trashing cards consitently to synergize with her card draw from spice addiction. And I used her +water heavily. At first, it wasn't going well because I couldn't get the solari for a seat on the council or the swordmaster. Got the swordmaster at Turn 5. I scored 2 early victoy points via conflict resolution, though. On Turn 8, I went from 7 to 10 by going ham on card draw and the conflict. Bought my first Spice must flow for 8 due to Sietch Reverend Mother's Fremen Bond and won the conflict. My deck was very thin. 9-11 cards. I think that was key. Curious to find out if it was an outlier or if I can replicate success with such a slim deck and card draw.

Smugglers thopter and carryall are two borderline broken cards with Ariana. Smugglers lets you draw 3 cards if you visit the imperial basin for no cost (as long as you have 2 influence with the spacing guild) and carryall fixes the main problem of Ariana which is that she tends to not be able to accumulate spice for big end of game pushes for highliner. Honestly, if I don't these cards in the starting 5 I tend to not pick her up, as I find her to be a bit underpowered even with a solid signet ring resource. I do think she would be better if her spice addict ability was optional.

The troop from Duncan Idaho can be deployed in battle directly (not only garrison) since the agent used will be placed in a combat space.

Hey, another great video! Good tips. Question about the game's terminology. I know that an "alliance" means you have gone up far enough on a house track to get the victory point and alliance token. But what about these "bonds" that show up on cards, sometimes? Are they different than the alliances, bc I believe I've seen cards that use both words or either word.

Hey! I have read it as having an alliance with the fremen. Just cause it’s the thematic way to say alliance with them. I haven’t seen anything else on it yet. But I’ll keep digging. Thanks for watching :)

Correction! So a Fremen bond actually means you can only use it if you have another fremen card already in play. I just clarified this. And I was mistaken. I put a rules correction.

I hope Santa brings me this game. I noticed that a Fremen alliance works very good with most characters, so I'm wondering if they are balanced with the other factions. After watching your videos I have a feeling they're always the best go-to or am I wrong?

I would say for first couple games they are the easiest to wrap most heads around. And they are straightforward. Benegesserit helps with deck manipulation. Guild is situational and expensive. Same with emperor :) I feel they are balanced but at the beginning fremen is just easier to go to

Wait, Duncan Idaho card is playing only with blue circle places, that are conflict places, so can play the troops gained from the card straight to the conflict if you want. Not necessarily into the garison.

Does gaining the spice from Seitch Rev. Mother count as 'harvest' spice? If so, you won't gain it, and the RM is a bad card for her.

Cool video. I've got a rules question, hope someone can help. With Arianna, if I don't have any water, can I go to a space that requires one water (Hagga Basin) with my signet ring that gives me water via Hidden Reservoir, and spend that water?

@@LordoftheBoard No, you can't. You need to pay the price of space to go there. From the rules: "You must pay any costs or meet any requirements of the board space you choose." To send an Agent to some board spaces, you must pay a cost. If you can’t pay the cost immediately (before resolving any effects of the space or the card you played), you can’t send your Agent there.

Right, just finished playing with the Earl, some thoughts: - both the Earl's special abilities bring little benefit - the first one increases influence once (you need at least 8 to get all the easy VPs) - as there are maximum 10 rounds in the game, the ring can be used at most 5 times, so it can bring a total of 5 spice - there are single actions more expensive than that - you should get Duncan asap (1 more action each round) - all players will get him eventually - you should get the High Council seat (2 persuasion points each round) - all players will eventually - fights are super important, lots of VPs there

Earl Thorvald is so incredibly bad in comparison to Leto. When in multiplayer he NEVER stands a chance. The characters are really unbalanced, Letos abilities are both so powerful and useful ALL THE TIME, Earls are... not. At least not his passive ability, which is crap.

Sorry, but Arianna guide it totally wrong. She is worst combat leader but best card draw leader, so strategy is opposite.
