Thanks for your instructions which I used as my TV and freeview box have stopped getting many channels including BBC1 and BBC 2. I followed the very helpful instructions as far as DVB tuning but I couldn't do a retune as the instruction was not available as it was very dim on the screen. Any ideas?

Hi, thanks for really clear instructions. We have a Panasonic TX-49FX740B t.v. We had two remote controls the one you were using plus another smaller one , the smaller one has gone missing, it’s used to get onto the Internet whereby we can get Amazon Prime. Yes you will normally need to change the country it is in first then the region. You may find that the tuner may not work though if you move it to a different country

Hi, the freeview in the tv and freeview in the recorder are separate so if you retune your tv, it won't affect the recorder. Good luck!!

I have virgin as my provider and am thinking of getting rid of their service as its becoming too expensive for me. If I return to the Panasonic and try it out, would I be able to retune it back again if I wasn't happy with the limited service that Panasonic gives me. I have been trying too do a tune on a Panasonic 700B which I bought 2017/18. On the signal quality it shows nothing (4.26 of this video) but on the manual tune it shows 95% but can’t tune any channel. I was also wondering why it stays on CH21 when from what I have read my area is CH23 and so on. I have used the outdoor antenna and bought two indoor ones, one of the indoor ones got me shopping channels.

I would always recommend trying to use an outdoor aerial for the best reception. Do you know the aerial is working ok, as normally it will only show no signal quality if there is an issue with the aerial or cabling.

Useful but problem I have is old Panasonic TV in bedroom no longer gets my Sky TV connection. Prior to retuning, channel 901 connected me to my Sky programmes. Retuning, as was requested, has lost this link and cannot find how to get it back. Have aerial system that links a number of TV's in the house so that Sky can be received on any of them. Others still okay, just retuned one no longer connecting and former channel 901 non existent. Any help appreciated.

Unfortunately newer tv's need a good quality signal so if you are using a portable aerial then it probably won't work. The tv really needs to be connected to a main rooftop aerial to get a picture.

Hi I’ve followed your excellent procedures but one problem - there is not a DVB option for tuning the channels!! I have a 50 inch Panasonic Smart TV - 2 years old. Help!,

Before you try retuning the tv, press the TV button on your remote control and hopefully it should enable the DVB option. If you cannot see the DVB option after pressing the TV button, you may need to go into the settings and enable the DVB option as it may have been accidently turned off. I assume you have had the option of DVB on the tv beforehand.

Couple of things to check. The frst is that the aerial is plugged into the tv. The second is that the tv is on DVB and not analogue. Press the TV button on the remote to check this. Good luck

You should be able to tune the recorder from the recorder itself, you will only be able to tune the tv from the tv handset. This is normally done through the menu, then look for the tuning options and from there it will give you the option to tune the tv

Normally on the remote control you should have the option with a TV / AV button to select the DVB or satellite option

It will normally be an issue with the aerial or the socket behind the tv. I know it sounds sill but make sure the aerial lead is plugged into the tv as sometimes they fall out.
