Clear me one thing that If the batsman hits the stump by his bat then obviously he is out but the shot which has been hit by his bat and ball goes to boundary for six or four or he takes single, double or three runs by that shot, then will score be considered or not?

In 1990 I was in the fielding side and our bowler hit the batsman's off stump. The off bail came to rest at 45 degrees on top of the middle stump, therefore completely disconnected from the off stump. The umpire couldn't give the batsman out because the bail had not fallen off the TOP of the stumps.

What happens if both bails go up in the air and land back on the stumps, but the opposite way round to the way they were originally? So the bail that was on the off and middle stumps lands on the middle and leg stumps, and vice versa.

It is a tricky, yet likely to happen case. Tricky precisely because of the very extremity and the rarity of such a situation. However, it is a clear possibility in cricket! The questions which need to be answered here is what counts as the "dislodging" of the bails in cricket and does it have any bearing on the individual 'identity' of the bails? I would say dislodging of bails has nothing to do with the individual "identity" of the bails. It is rather the numerical value(s) of the bails which matters. Going by that, there were two bails intact on top of the sticks before the alleged ' dislodging' and there are still two bails intact thus is still NOT OUT.

Depends. If you're the on-strike batsman and you accidentally hit the stumps while taking off for your first run, then you're out hit-wicket (Note, if you start for a run and then hit the stumps while coming back, you wouldn't be out). If the batsman dislodges the bails in any other circumstance, it is not out as long as the action is not a willful attempt to obstruct the fielder.

Remove a stump with the hand holding the ball. If all stumps are down then you can reassemble the stumps and put them down again. This obviously requires a lot more time than would normally be practical.

Basically, law dictates stipulated certain number of over to be played in 1 hour. Varies,usu it's 13-15 overs. If you're found short of overs bowled, team and captain will be penalised

Unless the law has been changed, a fielder may pick up a stump from the broken wicket and hold the ball to it. The batsman nearest the broken wicket will be 'run out' subject to the rest of the rules. The wicket must have been broken in the act of running out the batsman. You can't just grab a stump and run after the ball.

@@Fourthslip No. If the appeal is made then the Umpire could give the batsman out Obstructing the Field as he has deliberately caused a distraction. You can't give a batsman out caught if the ball was never caught, and hit wicket does not apply here as the batsman has not put the wicket down while playing a shot or setting off for his first run.

@@Fourthslip Entirely up to the umpire's interpretation of Obstruction. I would say it was a willful action by the batsman which distracted the fielder from taking a fair catch. Therefore on appeal the batsman would be out Obstructing the Field.

Many times it has happened. Bails move and come back on the sticks. By the laws, Bowled = Bails move out and FALL on the GROUND. Run out = At the moment just when bail is dislodged from the stump, depending upon where batsman is
