The thing is, I absolutely want to get this good at Dante, but his complexity makes him really daunting. I play him as much as I can because I think he’s fun and his complexity adds a lot to the gameplay. But it’s mainly just pulling off cool air combos like this that I really struggle with, especially when trying to time DSD Summoned Swords with other attacks that require Swordmaster.

Something that helps me work out sequences is to use a mod/trainer on PC to adjust the game speed and slow everything down. It's something I've always done when I'm learning a song on the piano, and it works just as well for this game. Once you teach your fingers the order and relative time between presses you can start to speed it up bit by bit and the next thing you know, you are doing it on turbo mode no problem.

It is terrifying when you realize that Dante is not a single fighter though. Vergil has his speed and dimensional flair, and Nero has his "arm"aments.....but Dante has, at any moment, FOUR styles of combat.....for CQC Combat and Defense, Ranged Offense, and overall Evasion. AND he masters his weapons within seconds. AND he can freeform flow between styles and weapons on a dime. Which means, at any given second, Dante has Style X Melee X Ranged options. Dante is almost impossible to stop if he has options.

I think this isnt just another combo vid where there's an animation cancel within an animation cancel. Im very casual in DMC and I havent played the fifth one so very often moves within moves would look a little unimpressive to me. And that's because while it's harder to pull off because it's tighter it's not actually stylish, as in aesthetically pleasing and digestible.
