a tip for parrying his attacks: walk backwards in a straight line and parry, gives you more frames to hit his projectiles

Sawgun/Nailgun and Screwdriver was my winning strategy for this level. Same for Gabriel 2. In my opinion, you're spending too much time on trying to get damage in with the pistols. Use your heavy hitters first, then use your pistols to finish him off when he meets the low health margin (because that's pretty much all hitscan is good for in this fight).

I'd recommend sliding more often, as it makes dodging attacks easier.
