@tgfromrunescape the orcs before they were corrupted by the warlocks were red, but when they became corrupted the corrupted orcs (and those who had been sufficiently exposed to fell magic)skin turned green. Garrosh was sick, and quarantined, so he was not able to come into contact with the fell magics until several years later, by which point it would seem that it had stablised and would not corrupt with proximity any more.

Varian was split into two, a gladiator in horde areanas, defeated Onyixa, broke into Ironforge after Moira was being insane, went to face the Lich King at his own home, attacked UC after the Wrathgate incident, went into the Emerald Dream to help fight the Nightmare and yes, he sits in his Throne room because he is not part of another group that he feels is more important helping than the Alliance at this current time. He does help more than you think and he is pretty BA.

@OmarNachtraaf yes there are honorable orcs, and varian has actually made attempts to work with thrall in the comics, but due to misunderstandings they never really connected. also, you have to realize varian grew up in a different era as thrall. varian grew up around war and saw orcs as monsters, while thrall grew in captivity and saw his people as victims. i wouldn't exactly call varian intolerant. his anger makes him do foolish things but he has shown a soft spot for orcs like saurfang.

I don't care what he puts for the BA rating, it's his choice, but I would put Thrall up with Saurfang by putting them both at 9s I'd say. I would drop Garrosh to a 7 and crank Grom up to 11. Also, Varian is probably a 9 or 8 in my book. In other news, I love this series and don't want it to stop. Keep it up, Pride!

@RanwulfMaxwell At a peace summit in Theramore, the Twilight's Hammer attacked, and brought with them Garona Halforcen, who killed Varian's father. Varian figured the horde arranged for this, as an assassination. Garrosh felt Varian was insulting his honor, and the hate just got worse from there.

Actually, I think his slip into nuttiness is fairly realistic. He accidentally killed one of his comrades, Sylvanas is using Lich King powers to make more Forsaken, the goblins are being led by Gallywix and the trolls are being meh about it all. That combined with being a warchief is a pretty good reason to jump off the slippery slope.

Fair enough. I disagree but a discussion like this is, in the end, down to personal opinion. There is no rating system for leadership skills and both leaders had a number of setbacks that make it difficult to compare the two fairly. So while I disagree, I understand your point and respect your opinion.

Yes he did not drink the demons blood, that is how normal orcs look. The green skin is a side affect of demon curroption, the Magghar did not succumb to corruption which is why they are not green

alot of people forget that thrall is a shammy. and it is a known fac that shammy's tend to heal (points towards jesse) so in the fight thrall had'nt healed yet although i'm not 100% sure. but if thrall wanted too he would crush inferrior garrosh with his raw shamanisticish goodness, like chuck norris kills ninja's

Don't be short sighted and QQ about Varian getting a higher BA than Thrall. Yes Thrall was PART of saving Azeroth from Deathwing, with the help of the aspects, the earthen ring, the cenarion circle, and the champions( wow players) of Azeroth. And what has Varian done? Became the Gladiator champion of the crimson ring, on his own, killed Onyxia, again on his own, and with the help of malfurion, saved Azeroth from the emerald nightmare and he is the champion of Lo'gash, the great wolf spirit.

Well to be fair, Arthas had armies that numbred in the millions, frost wyrms, vyrkul and nerubians just to name a few. Plus alliance between horde and the alliance was broken up after the rebelion in undercity causing the horde and alliance to fight each other in stead of the undead. Also I think the nexus war took some resources from the war effort, not to mention the old god and the fact that the titans nearly decided to end the world. Arthas had a lot of luck as well as skill :)

Your thinking of Stonetalon peaks and yes WAS honorable... back then but recently he made the decision to bomb Theramore, a zone that was considered off limits. Basically he contradicted his own beliefs. It was dishonorable to bomb the innocent yet he bombed a zone that wasn't directly involved in the war. As for why Blizz has suddenly decided to make Garrosh and asshole? I don't know.

Actually, it makes you think that the Alliance was being WAAAYYY too nice to enemies that comes from nowhere just to conquer and destroy their world. Besides, Garrosh pretty much loathed(and still do) the old horde, so much he is not green because he did not took part of it.

Real lore suggests also that this outcome with Garrosh was predictable. Yeah, he wasn't responsible of Cairne's murder, still "not being responsible" doesn't make him good. He had some good points, but he didn't have the time and chance for learn how to be a right leader, he found himself fucked to be a Warchief while he wasn't fit to be one, yet. Cairne's death meant the loss of probably the only guy that could have be able to bring Garrosh to the right direction.

because garrosh was ill during the war he was never tainted with demon blood. that is why he has red skin. orcs used to have red skin but the demon blood turned their skin green.

I don't understand Garrosh's BA: 8. In Nagrand he was a little emo kid. Then just fighting everyone(Thrall, Varian, Cairne,...). I don't think that's badass. o.o However Thrall brought the Orcclans together united the new Horde recruited the Darkspear, the Tauren and the Goblins for the horde. He also was at the Maelstrom stopping the cataclysm and later he became Deathwing's successor as Aspekt of the Earth. o=

Dude. Garrosh is not an awesome warchief. He is an honourable warrior and he did not know of Magatha's poison, but he is very much a warmonger. Thrall was devoted to making the Horde what it is today and didn't want conflict. He led the Horde to Kalimdor to persue a peaceful existence away from the Alliance, who still condemned the orcs for their enslavement at the hands of the burning legion. Garrosh is going against Thrall's vision for the Horde and is tearing it apart in his pursuit of war.

In a nutshell, Garrosh carefully lived his life to avoid following into his father's bloodthirsty steps, until Thall came along who basically taught Garrosh that being bloodthirsty will make you a hero. To which Garrosh responded by becoming as bloodthirsty and agressive, if not even moreso, then his father Grommash. He's actually a pretty lousy character when you look at it from this perspective...

You talk as if he's done it alone. Not disrespecting Thrall, but the ASPECTS did most of the work, and don't say they didn't. The earthen also helped him. And Varian has done his fair share of saving the world. Read the book Stormrage, where he helped Malfurion save Azeroth from the Emerald nightmare.

ive just finished a book called rise of the horde and in ther it tell you how garrosh was just like a normal orc besides a bit angrier and he was one of the first to drink the blood of mannoroth and this blood made all the orcs increase in size and gained bigger muscles and made them rage thts why garrosh wants to destroy anything alliance also it tells you about thralls father durotan and loads of other horde members pride if you want anymore info on them jus ask ill be glad to help with L4N :)

Personally, if the Horde was to divide and fight, I would side with Garrosh, because of 2 reasons, #1, the weaker side would be too economically weak to heal the Horde, and #2, The Alliance would take advantage of this and slaughter the Horde forces as they will all be cut off from each other and unable to receive assistance from Orgrimmar & Undercity.

ACTUALLY what really happen between the duel with Thrall and Garrosh was that Thrall was mercyfull to Garrosh and sparred him. In wow it is garrosh winning but it is actually reversed and Thrall spared his life. thank you and plz like this so other people can see it....
