Something that's very important to know about Lore-master combat pets is that when they are summoned they will always appear with full health, full power, and all skills off cooldown and ready to use. That means if your pet has just used all its powerful abilities, you can dismiss it and resummon it and then it can use all of its abilities again, immediately. Similarly, if your pet is defeated you can resummon it and it will appear 100% ready to go. This is useful not only in long or difficult battles but also while just casually questing along: Kill a mob, dismiss your pet, resummon it, go right to the next mob with your pet and its abilities all at 100% and ready to use instead of waiting around for its skills to come off cooldown or having to tackle the next mob with your pet unable to use some or all of its skills. (Note that the exception to this is the Spirit of Nature, the healing pet, which has a 3-minute cooldown on the ability to summon it.) Also, when in a group, it is very effective to cycle through all (or most) of your combat pets quickly in order to keep all of the different buffs and debuffs active. When in a group doing challenging content, just as Zollin described early in this video, your job as Lore-master is SUPPORT: Buffing, debuffing, crowd control, and helping a bit with heals and power restores. Your pets - all or nearly all of them, not just your one favorite that you use while soloing - is an important part of this job. So being able to dismiss your combat pet quickly and easily while in combat, without fumbling around with clicking on its portrait and selecting the correct option in a drop-down menu, is fairly important for efficient function and a pleasant play experience. To do this, create a "/pet dismiss" skill button. It's easy to do: First, move whatever skill is in your #1 skill button (the one at the bottom-left of all your skill bars) somewhere else temporarily. Then type this into your chat box: /shortcut 1 /pet release Now you can hit a keybind or just left-click on that button to dismiss your pet, making it easier to summon a replacement pet quickly. Once that skill button is created, you can move it to any other slot on your skill bars and move whatever you had in your #1 skill button back where it belongs. You can also drag buttons from your pet control bar to one of the slots of your regular skill bars. Doing so will not remove the button from the pet control bar, it will duplicate that button. This is useful because you can assign keybinds to slots on your regular skill bars but if a pet command or pet skill is only on the pet control bar, you can activate that command or pet skill only by clicking it - there is no ability to set a keybind for a slot on the pet control bar. One of the most useful commands to be able to activate with a keybind rather than a mouse click is the very basic Attack command, allowing you to change your pet's target easily without fumbling for the correct button to click with your mouse. Another is the Follow command which will allow you to pull your pet off its target and run back to you, useful if you don't want it breaking a crowd control effect (pets will usually automatically stop attacking CCed targets, but only usually - it's best to pull it off manually to be sure when playing challenging group content).

Zollin, I enjoyed last night's stream where you played your Lore-master. It was especially interesting to see you tackle more challenging content because most of your videos are full of you romping your toon through easy content that is no challenge for you and that character at all. That said, there were two reasons why it took you a long time to kill things during that stream and you ended up getting defeated a lot: 1- You are using "old" Legendary Items. You should take your Lore-master to Gobeth Tethian, the traceries room at The Last Homely House in Rivendell, get a bunch of Ancient Script by appraising all of his current "old" LIs, and then purchasing a pair of "new" LIs, equipping and then reforging them, and then purchasing traceries to fill the slots of those LIs. This will make a huge difference in your combat power! 2- As one levels through LOTRO, the experience of going from one zone to the next or a mob of Level X to a mob of Level X+1 is pretty smooth. The next zone or the mob that's just one level higher will be a little tougher, but only a little. However, in some cases, the next zone or the mobs just one level higher are a quantum level harder to deal with. This is because, in most cases, major expansions purposely introduced much higher levels of damage and morale and gear stats, in order to encourage players to ditch their old gear and get the new gear available in what was then that new expansion. This is most apparent at Level 95, Level 100, Level 105, Level 120, and Level 130. Your character is Level 116/117 and was fighting mobs that were Level 120/121 in a zone that is essentially one expansion higher than your character's level. Normally, mobs 3 or 4 levels higher than your character might be a bit of a challenge because of resistances and chances to-hit and other math reasons, but in this specific case your character was basically a full quantum level below the mobs it was fighting both in terms of the base damage output of the character's skills and the damage output and morale of the mobs your character was fighting.

Yes, go for the ones that give you skills you can use "actives" first. Then get things that power up those skills. Then at that point aim for the exstra buffs

Yes, lots! I think they might be better then RK with AOE skills. They have a lot. Good question. Both classes great

I would suggest that you make a single video which describes the types of skills you covered early. You touched on VERY common game terminologies for a long time. Just make a video which describes those, and put a link to it. Save some FF time.

Flank is side, but maybe not in lotro. I'm new to the game, so I'm not an expert.
@VoiceoftheRings2 жыл бұрын
Ya, it's been updated. So I don't believe it works in a physical way anymore.
@SilverPT84 Жыл бұрын
It will randomly hit a flank and you will ear it so you can deal more damage or heal a bit yourself after that sound. Some pets trigger more Flank than others .
@ElusiveClit2 жыл бұрын
11:25 false information. Flanking in this game has nothing to do with positioning. Flanking happens randomly when a pet attacks an enemy.
@VoiceoftheRings2 жыл бұрын
Good to know! I am aware that your pet can auto flank. I also, know flanking use to be a thing back in the day. But I believe was removed. So thanks for pointing it out.
@ElusiveClit2 жыл бұрын
@@VoiceoftheRings It was never a positional thing. The only positional effect Lore-Masters/Pets have is the 'Harried' effect which slows the enemy down if the pet hits them from behind, flanks aren't based on that at all.
