The best I can tell about the lore in broad strokes is: “The Backrooms are invading the world, we have to use the matrix to stop them.” And that headcannon has gotten me this far.

Really love the whole Greek mythology related stuff going on. “Here lies Phaethon who in the Sun-Gods chariot fared” phaethon?? Helios academy?? So Helios academy was where wise and belle once studied at in old eredu that’s been taken over by hollow zero, and they’re trying to look for their teacher.. Helios is known as the God of the sun, Phaethon being one of his many children in Greek myth who rides the sun gods chariot in order to confirm/prove that he is a child of Helios. I wonder if that’s the reason why they named themselves Phaethon..

@@Sfhqr yup!! I was going to, but many speculate that it could also not be him due to prof Arche being missing for an entire era, so if he’s the teacher the siblings are looking for-that would mean they’re very old 😭

New Eridu isn't that old, probably around 15 years old at best. Meaning, these people we saw could still be alive.

@@Sfhqr Where? I already played all the main and side missions. She was clasmates with Zhu Yuan. Miyabi is a void hunter but she's not the swordmaster.

@@traveleramongstars4600 during the Hollow Zero stuff after you meet Miyabi and are about to leave the outpost, the MC’s sibling comes by to pick you up and refers to Miyabi as a Void Hunter and starts fangirling

I noticed that the male narrator calls the female narrator "Fairy" near the beginning. So my theory is that Fairy and the other AIs were originally human before the events of the game

Na, he was just giving fairy a command but it sounded like he was takling to the female narrator. At the very end the female narrator says "You four wait until someone awakens you." So this clearly show she is not one of the 4 AIs.

I think it's a fully awakened and developed Fairy. When she becomes and grows into full 'personhood' state.

What's missed is the Name drop is ACTUALLY meaning that the goal is to turn the 'world' into a 'zenless' zone. Which is a term IN GAME.

This ain't the first and certainly the last time they've said something and it turned out to be intentionally false and misleading. (Looking at you Da Wei, Mr. Shaoji)

@@lop90ful1I've seen multiple people say that it's been confirmed that zzz isn't related to honkai but I have never seen any confirmation for this, even when I look it up myself I come across nothing official so Idk where this started from. And even if zzz isn't connected to honkai, that doesn't mean it can't have lookalikes nor that it doesn't take place in the same universe. For example genshin is also not connected to the honkai series but it does take place in the imaginary tree(like every other hoyo game) and does have lookalikes. Zzz is probably like genshin in the sense that the worlds are more isolated than the worlds from HI3 and hsr but still take place in the imaginary tree(plus HI3 and hsr literally have plot connections to each other through welt). It wouldn't make much sense to have all these references and lookalikes if zzz didn't take place in the imaginary tree cuz the sunbringer has the exact same eye and hair colors + the white star shaped pupils like Kiana, it has belobog industries and it has a character that looks exactly like elysia(even down to the angelic + bridal imagery). The elysia like character literally has the exact same hairstyle except the bangs start at the opposite side, the resemblance is uncanny.

@@jessepfau but that doesn’t mean that zzz isn’t connected to the rest of the hoyo-verse, it’s just that both of the belobogs have nothing to do with each other. Edit: whoops misread there a bit, but I’ll still keep what I originally said.

All Hoyo games are in the same universe, just different paralel branching worlds. That's why there are similarities like variants of the same characters or places.

Even though Hoyo said ZZZ isn't connected to their other games, we all know it still exists in the Imaginary Tree. So maybe ZZZ is a bubble world? Isolated from the rest of the tree like Genshin?

I think the girl was saying: "That's when we'll make New Eridu..." and the Zenless Zone Zero logo comes up. I think the whole endgame is to make New Eridu into a Zenless Zone Zero, whatever that is.

Personally I don’t find a lot of motivation to find out what happened to these leaders but it’s interesting enough to know they set the foundation for New Eridu which lead to the business of proxies being able to help on the front against Etherials by hacking into Hollows remotely. But I do wonder if the Etherial outbreak will reach Sixth Street someday. But I’m mainly here for the combat and music ngl.

It took me 3 weeks to realize that Jinni, Fairy, Ghost and Youkai are likely hackers who uploaded AI copies of themselves into the New Eridu network and are monitoring the situation to see which AI programs have been found. It's likely these four who were talking at the end of the prologue too when Fairy was activated.

Okay if you all from genshin impact let me tell you how this zzz story work samsara genshin story have samsara, now if you look at the Cutscene where you get awaken by fairy and the MC saying "they won't give up, eridu tragedy and rewind" They were in a hollow zero there was a quest where the MC said to fairy that the MC live in hollow zero like before it becomes hollow I bet they were stuck in that hollow until the present it in escape from that place kinda like traveler and fauzan in away, the MC goal was to prevent the same history mistake from the ruin eridu and make new eridu their new home you know like how abyss lumine revive their home land Khanrieah
