@@jonnyh1917 It so different from the first and third. It's easy, they added useless bosses. It was so easy in fact that they updated the game to move shit around and add more enemies. Hidden walls you press the action button to open, you don't hit them. There are plenty of reasons people don't really like it.

just a thought but maybe the first sin was the uprise against the dragons? I mean to this day we still never got a concrete reason on why gwyn attacked other than _"F*ck em"_ might have something to do with the first born aligning himself with the dragons? Honestly it fits aldias dragon obsession.

Gwyn attacked the dragons so he could start the Era of Fire, the Firstborn didn't ally himself with the dragons until well after the war with the dragons. Edit: I would recommend joining the Dark Souls reddit discord, they have a Lore channel with some people that know basically everything about Fromsoft games

I think the first sin was Gwynn creating the undead curse, and so set up the ringed city beforehand. Creating and linking the flame to the undead curse, via humanity. The utter paradox of darkness (humanity) being consumed or burned by flame, for an everlasting age of light. Credits to Hawkshaw

So a question, when do you presume the creation of the Dark Sign was? During the War with the Dragons? After the linking of the fire? I always presumed that the binding of humanity was the First Sin, which includes the creation of the Ring City. Which I thought happened before the creation of the Chaos Flame.

the ringed city dlc clearly states that the first sin was when sealed away the dark inside man with a ring of fire because he feared the power of humanity. This happened during the war with the dragons as slave knights and ring knights were used to fight the dragons. After the war the pygmies were givwn their own kingdom, a trap, and the remaining humans were taken as servants to the gods. The chaos flame happened after the war as the flame of life was starting to fade, the witch of Izalith attempted to recreate the flame of life but instead created the flame of chaos. Seeing that he had no choice and fearing the age of fire ending, Gwynn linked the first flame to humanity and used his own soul and that of many of his knights to rekindle the first flame. With the way of white being used to trick humanity into reigniting the flame when it failed again. The Dark Sign and the Undead curse are by products of the seal of fire fading as the flame dies. As the seal of fire fades the dark it held back begins to pour out, thus creating the dark sign and reverting man to his true form the undead.
