LORE - Uncharted Lore in a Minute!
Transcript
Sir Francis Drake, an English Vice Admiral and second-in-command of the English fleet, was the first Englishman to circumnavigate the Earth. Having conducted many campaigns against the Spanish, he finally suffered his most crushing defeat in Puerto Rico and retreated to Panama in 1596. There, he faked his death and had an empty coffin buried at sea, containing only his diary which held the coordinates of the fabled El Dorado. He then travelled to an uncharted island where the Spanish hid El Dorado, and there he learned of its terrible curse.
In his youth, Nathan Drake, a name he had given himself, was raised in the Saint Francis Boy's Home where he learned about the voyages of Francis Drake. This lead him to attend a Francis Drake exhibit which had his ring on display. Believing he was a descendant of Francis Drake, Nathan's intention was to 'reclaim' the ring for his family. However, Victor Sullivan, hired by Katherine Marlowe, leader to a secret Hermetic order, also intended to steal the ring. Marlowe ordered her men to kill Nathan, but Sullivan intervened and escaped with Nathan and the ring, which had the coordinates of Francis' coffin burial site inscribed upon it.
The two became partners, traveling the world in search of rare treasures while still seeking the coffin of Francis Drake. But when Nathan is double-crossed and left penniless after a heist, he can no longer afford to search for the coffin. Still, Nathan has a plan to recover the coffin by taking advantage of Elena Fisher, a journalist and host of the popular archaeology TV show, Uncharted. Willing to fund Nathan's expedition in return for a story and TV coverage, the three set out on an adventure to uncover the secret of El Dorado.

So part of that Is incorrect. he gave himself the name drake because of his fascination with Francis drake and his voyages not because he believed he was descended from him. he wanted to feel important since his dad was shitty and just abandoned him

That could be the story of Minecraft, although it could certainly be argued against considering the nature of the game. However, that's the exact reason that can't be a video here. It's story, not lore. A simple comparison is that lore is basically backstory that happens before the game begins, as opposed to regular story, which is what happens while you play. So, yeah, Minecraft has absolutely no lore whatsoever, even if you do manage to justify a story for the game.

'You randomly appear in a world made of blocks and full of trees. After successfully punching trees to death with your hands, you are able to create crafting tables, sticks and wooden pickaxes. Of course, you don't do that; all you do is stare at a pig for 10 minutes. After making a very primitive shelter, you probably decide you should explore! Of course, you get lost by the time night falls and all the hostile mobs the world has are unleashed upon you. Have fun!

yeah,the middle about nathan's childhood is not entirely accurate or complete on the details.since i played all 3 of the uncharted series. he actually had a messed up father who went insane after nathan's mom died and committed suicide.so that is why he ended up in the boy's school. and the thing about him believing he is a descendent of drake is speculation between that and he only said that to gain sully's trust and just went with it for the rest of his life.Personally i believe in the latter.

Here's dark souls lore in under 400 characters: You who has been striped of your humanity and trapped in jail,still linger with hope. For some unknown reason the key to your cell falls and you are set free by a young knight. You meet this young knight who has failed in his mission, now you must go and continue his mission but with no clues on what you are to do, you wonder around aimlessly, lost in this dark world with no one to trust. You will see a ugly monsters and one great pair of chests!

This actually does touch on the back story that was developed from Uncharted 3. However, it's true that there wasn't anything in this describing Uncharted 2, but really...that game was so well packaged in itself, it would deserve its own lore where as Uncharted 1 and 3 complement themselves (along with that mini-comic that's briefly referenced in here) and can both be compounded to form a solid lore.

Problem: Its not confirmed that it takes place on an other planet. It IS confirmed that Steve is not human, you never see him wake up on the island, and lastly Minecraft is a sandbox game with no story line. Lore is meant to tell storylines.
