I've been using this dye for about 2 years now and its my favorite hi lift ash brown dye thanks to watching this video long ago. I dyed it first with virgin black hair, and it looked great, but it took one more full coverage application to get the tone I wanted. I must stay I accidentally once did my roots with the ul61 WARM and it made my roots orange, so for first time users make sure you get the COOL tone (unless you like warm orangey tones). Thank you so much ekimura for introducing me to this dye.

Are you wanting to dye your hair dark for the winter, and then using this dye to lighten your hair colour later on? I think it will work, it will take a couple of times for the colour to really show.

I love love love! Ur bangs, and ur layers, and I do like the color. I have super dark brown hair and I wanna try going lighter to a light brown. How did you do to change your hair color shade? Did you bleached and then used this product or did you applied it over already processed hair (i mean if you had dyed your hair another shade and then use this from loreal) ? I love this shade on you I want to try it myself but right now I have a 5.54 shade from garnier nutrisse applied on my hair. Would this work right on me? I have dark brown natural hair. Maybe I´ll have to wait until my roots grow longer...

What if you already have dyed hair but it's a dark brown color? Do you start from the roots (about an inch of virgin hair has grown out) or start an inch away like you said? I'm not sure if virgin hair dyes faster than processed hair so I get confused if I should start at roots or not (if I want to go lighter). Because whenever I try to dye my hair lighter my roots always end up going lighter than my ends. So what would you recommend for getting an even color all over?

I dyed my hair about a year ago. So I have half virgin hair and half my hair was dyed a lighter brown similar to yours ( my natural color is dark brown). If I use this dye u used, will it come out ok?

Hey Eki! Have you tried the Prettia bubble foam hair dye before? I've been wanting to try a foam dye but I opted for a box of Palty dye when I was visiting Japan. But I saw that Nice n' Easy came out with their own foam dye so I'm eager to try it out. If you have any experience with these types of dyes what are your thoughts ^_^

@maria1010ish I'm wondering the same thing, I just tried it and it didn't change the color. I dyed my hair like 6 months ago with a non-amonia dye, but it was "natural black" so I don't know if this is the reason why this Ultra light color is not lightening my hair =( someone help us! lol

@tegomassislove Because the orange/yellowish issue is more noticeable and common when you dye your hair blonde. But every time you lighten a dark hair to lighter tone it turns orange. It's jsut that is more common to lighten the hair up to blonde. I have used a LOT of light ash brown hair dyes in hopes of getting the right color... They turn really orange or really black. So now I use revlon's light brown (51) and it lightens the hair very well, and I use the shampoo and it turns light ash.

@tegomassislove Most of the hair dyes, if not all, turned to orange when you go for a light tone when you have dark hair to start. It sucks, I know. One of the solutions is to go to a salon but you can do it yourself at home. All you need to do is to buy Clairol Shimmer Lights, it's a shampoo that corrects color. It will take away the orange/red/bright yellow out of your hair, leaving it in ashy tones. There are other brands, but they're pretty much all the same purple/blue shampoos.

@tegomassislove If you want an ashy brown... alot of people recommended using a blonde hairdye with the word ash in it. It'll be orange at first, but less than with a different dye that doesn't have ash in it but a week later it shouldn't be orange anymore.

@tegomassislovw what people gotta know is that it's not gonna turn out like it is on the box, and just bc it'll be fine on one person doesn't mean u'll get exactly the same...the thing with color is that u can do everything right and it still will turn out different then how u want it bc it's a chemical process...that's why I'm not to happy about people who's not really a hairdresser doing it them selves, not only bc of the damage, but bc they don't know what they are doing!

@tegomassislove ur hair is not gonna turn orange when using colors with ash in them, so I dunno what u've done, but something went wrong for sure...ash is what we hairdressers use when getting a hair that is to warm, like orange or yellow to get more beige looking, more natural and to even it out and make the color more ''cold''...but it's like ekimura said, it depends on what color u had beneath before coloring, if it was natural color, or colored etc

For good results just dye your hair with a blonde and then it would be a ginger colour then dye it whatever colour you want, i did that and used a light brown:) and i loveeee it-3 plus am asian as well

@ekimura really? it always turned out to be that pretty ashy brown when you use it? :/ luckyyyy. i had black roots and brownish/orangeish ends (dyed it brown 6 months ago and it faded a little) so i wanted a new hair color. plus my roots were like 5 inches lol. so i dyed it and it turned into like an orange brown. didn't really do anything to the ends. but my roots were the same color. it turned out really even and fixed my roots. but i don't like the color :(
