It´s not a music video it´s her actaul live performance during the Swedish competition. She looks extra happy at the end because this is her second performance. When she first performed her number got interrupted by a stage invader that came really close to her! So for security reasons they stopped her in the middle of her performance and took her off stage. She was a bit startled and shocked. But she´s such a professional that she could go on stage again after a couple of minutes and do her performance once again!! There were 3 stage invaders, climate activists, of which 1 came really close, they all got escorted out by security people.

Eurovision was created as a way to reconnect the war torn countries in Europe after WW2. Singers compete with original songs first in a national selection, in Sweden this show is called Melodifestivalen. The winner then gets to represent their country in Eurovision. Loreen has won the national selection in Sweden and will compete in a semifinal and if she goes through from there she will also compete in the big final. Ukraine won Eurovision last year so traditionally it would be held in Ukraine however because of the ongoing war it will be held in England. Russia and Belarus are at this time not allowed to compete. The final is on the 13th of May, you should watch it😁

Yes indeed, Loreen do have tattoos both a normal tattoo but also hana tattoos on hands, feets and chest, thats what the song is inspired from as the hana tattoos means being in harmony with nature. The song is about a love, it's about a troubled relationship as the love is stuck on her like a tattoo and she will do everything she can to make the relationship work. But in deeper meaning it's about the collective love and her love for her country and aswell as a shout out to her moroccan heritage.

Loreen is amazing, she won Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 with "Euphoria", please check out her winning performance if you haven't seen that already! (Loreen - Euphoria - Sweden - Live - Grand Final - 2012 Eurovision Song Contest) She describe it as "Euphoria was the moonlight, Tattoo is the sunrise". My own interpretation of it is also that "Euphoria" is Sweden, where she is born and raised, that performance it rather was dark, with had snow, while "Tattoo" has sand and this warm desert light, to remind us about Morocco where her parents are from, but both have this ethereal, mystical feel and filled with so much love and artistry. The signs above her looks like Moroccan tradional tattoos, from the ethnical group (Berber) that her family is from, but some has also said they've seen Nordic runes, so perhaps there is a mix. It's like two sides of her in these two songs. When she "lifts" the screen over her head, it's like she is lifting the sky, like the god from the Greek mythology, Atlas. The Atlas mountains is in Morocco, that's the area where the berbers live. So there is a lot of symbolism, on her nails she has stones from this region too. Eurovision is such a huge contest, and it has been going on since 1956 (except in 2020, because of you know what). Some countries decides the artist and song by an internal selection by the TV company, but a lot of countries have their own contests, so most of the contestants in Eurovision are already winners in their respective countries. The Swedish national selection is called Melodifestivalen (you can call it Melfest for short), and it goes on for 6 weeks until the grand final in a big arena. So this is a live performance with 16 000 people in the audience. In 2023 Eurovision there has been a massive rule change, perhaps even a game changer. People from other countries get to vote too! So if you're night owls, perhaps you'll watch it live, and vote for Loreen, if she happens to be your favorite. I think you will be able to watch it on Peacock in the US (or use some VPN to watch one of the European channels, like SVT) and there will be some kind of secure online platform where non-Europeans can vote... But I don't have more info on that just yet. You will realize, reacting to Eurovision, it's easy to get your videos blocked, so I recommend you put some filter on the video, and stop the video and talk during it, chopping it up. Yes, it's annoying for you, and the viewers and I wish the record companies and TV-channels weren't so keen on blocking Eurovision reactions. But if it gets blocked, try to "chop it up", or mute certain parts, it's not good, but sometimes it's the only way. But when you're mesmorized by Loreen it's hard to stop and talk, I know! Sorry about the essay... I can't help myself.

Eurovision is the biggest non-sporting televised event in the world, with more that 200 million people watching every year around the globe. It consists two Semi Finals (since 2004) and a Grand Final and is held every May. Each participating country has to send an original song chosen internaly or via national final (Melodifestivalen in Sweden f.e.). The winner is chosen after the 50-50 vote of the televote and each participating country's professional jury and has the right to host the event the following year. Eurovision has been around since 1956 and many artists have achieved worldwide success after that, like ABBA, Celine Dion and Maneskin, to name a fiew. Loreen won back in 2012 with the song "Euphoria" after a record of 18 maximum 12 points (by the then voting system) and the performance itself artistically changed the course of the contest forever and led Eurovision to a more contemporary path. If she wins Eurovision this year with "Tattoo", Sweden will tie with Ireland as the country with the most wins in the contest's 68 year history with 7. Also she will be the second artist to win the contest twice, after Johnny Logan (1980, 1987) and the first female to achieve that. She's a Eurovision LEGEND.

I’ve watched your kpop reactions and I was surprised to see one for Eurovision. It’s a song competition where every country in Europe + a few otside select a song to represent their country. This year 37 countries will participate. There’s 2 semi finals and in the final 26 countries will compete for the win. Eurovision song contest has been going on since 1956. This year United Kingdom will host the show. Ukraine won last year but for obvious reasons they can’t host it this year. I like Eurovision a lot and I hope you’ll react to more countries! (Finland is my favorite not biased at all)

When I heard the song for the first time, I saw myself 10 years old in front of the mirror, in my right hand a hairbrush, and the record player playing the ABBA record and the song was THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL, with the sound at top volume, dancing and singing, in pajamas and socks. There's no way to forget. I even thought at first that it was an ABBA remake of this song. Only when I listened the 2nd time did I realize it wasn't. I'm not an expert, but this struck me as plagiarism. But if they paid to use The Winner Takes It All chords for the copyright holders, that's OK! Enjoy the song, because as I have sweet childhood memories of the same song, I can't listen to it without mistaking it for ABBA. And ABBA's version is even better, for my taste and emotional memory. SUCCESS!

Sometimes countries send songs with references to their culture, but not necessarily. Admittedly, a sector of ESC fans (me included) rate songs with traditional and cultural references very highly, because it's defintely part of it, even if not a universal thing in the contest

It is also broadcast live in the US on NBC's Peacock streaming service this May, so you can also watch that over there. It's an annual event in May that started in the 1950's and spans over three shows, two semi finals during the week and the big grand finale on Saturday. Each nation competing submits one act to represent their country by their national broadcaster and all viewers vote on the best song, act and performance that will become the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest. What you just watched was a performance of Loreen, who won the national preselection for the swedish representation for the 2023 contest held this year in Liverpool, UK. Evry European country have there own Music festival, people vote for a winner, and the winner go to the country that won the big Eursovision festival last year,. All country send there winner and all compete, in evry country a jury vote and people vote. Loreen won Eurovision 2012 and Now she won the Swedish Festival, so she is Sweden represent in the big Eurovision Festival in Liverpool Arena.
