The episode, “Buo ang Loob - Shamans and Healers of the Philippines”, looks into the methods of traditional healers and spiritual leaders whose knowledge of the spiritual and natural world make them indispensable to their communities.
It features the Agusanon Babaylan, the Mambobolo andMananambal of Siquijor, and the Baglan of Abra. It is the first time that the Pinaing ritual of Abra has been documented and aired for television.
Dayaw, conceptualized and hosted by Senator Legarda, and produced by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and ANC, was shown every Thursday, 6:00pm on ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) with replays on Friday 1:30am and 2:30pm, Saturday 2:30pm and Sunday 11:00am. It was aired simultaneously on The Filipino Channel (TFC).
