While some would holler baptismal regeneration , the doctrine of baptism is a command of Scripture . What many call a salvation experience cannot be found in Scriptures , but , every example of conversion in the book of Acts involved water baptism , and that in the Name of Jesus Christ , fulfilling the command of Christ in Matthew 28:19 . We believe in salvation by the blood of Jesus Christ , by grace , but it comes in obedience to the Word of the Living God .

For anyone who would take the stand that water baptism is optional or unessential , you only have the Word of God against that idea . Jesus said in Mark 16 : 16 , " He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved , he that believeth not shall be damned ."

My concern with this message is that the speaker appears to think that the organization is "the" church. His illustration of goats and sheep are saved and not saved. Not organizational members. Plus this message about an organization seems to be preached in an open conference where more than just organizational members may be. That doesn't seem to be the ethical forum for such speeches.

Your points are fair. But preachers on both sides of the issue do it. That, however, is not an attempt on my part to justify the speaker here. My real motive for posting this sermon was for its historical content and significance , not to take sides. Both sides could have handled things better. God bless you!!

Is this the sermon that got him fired from the Stockton college? He was my pastor in Boise, Idaho after he lost his job there.

I'm really not sure about that.

We do not believe that any organization , including our own , is the Church in it's entirety , but the church are those blood washed Saints , born of water and Spirit , according to John 3: 4-5 .

The only thing I would disagree on is this brother's characterization of the "3 steppers" believing in "baptismal regeneration". This simply is not true.
