Shimano has now officially announced what has long been suspected - that there’s to be a version with mechanical (cable-operated) shifting, although rim brakes remain off the menu. Shimano 105 Mechanical 12-speed shares many components with the existing Di2 version but there are, of course, new shifters and derailleurs.
Shimano announces, "With the debut of the 105 R7100 Mechanical 12-speed groupset, Shimano aims to bring the sheer delight of self-powered adventures to the extensive community of cycling enthusiasts who seek dependable, user-friendly components without breaking the bank."
Naturally, the term "affordable" can vary, especially considering the significant price increases that have affected virtually everything in the cycling industry and beyond over the past couple of years. Nonetheless, it remains notably more budget-friendly than the electronic version of the 105 groupset.

i guess worth it siya i upgrade if you're using 105 r7000 mechanical disc to fully hydraulic like me, i wanna go full hydraulic and i have an option to go 105 hyd (r7120) 12s 20k php or 105 hyd (r7020) 11s) 17k php the only comaptibility issues lng na nakikita ko is 12s shifter and 11s rd, but i can buy and sell specially na mtaas pa din ang demand lalo na sa mid tier like 105 . slowly upgrading every parts to 12s until you can settle to it. considering na 105 12s might be the shimano's final 12s mechanical release . pinnacle of mechanical shifting

IMO madami na ngayon nagbebenta ng 105 shimano di2 12S at pricepoint of 50,000 at kung itong new 105 12S mech irerelease sa market at range of 35k - 40k, Mag di2 nalang kayo. Simple Installation and Less Maintenance itong bagong Di2 ngayon and the shifting precision at responsive is 👍. Mas tumatagal ang STI ng di2 compare sa STI ng mechanical by the reason na less movement parts sa loob ng sti ng di2 and mas concealed siya compare sa sti ng mechanical at that point na kailangan mo ispray ng cleaning fluid at re apply ng light spray grease pag mechanical sti para maganda ulit ang performance at malinisan. New di2 is worth for the money and investment sa cycling mo. Share ko lng XP ko sa pagiging Bike Mechanic and learnings sa Bike Industry 😉

Lods, need ur advise. Ano mas ok na speed and cadence sensors, igpsport (spd70/cad70) or magene (s3). Ipe-pair ko with bsc200. Also kung di naman nagre-race, but nagla-laps and long rides lang, need ba speed and cadence sensors, or ok na kahit hr monitor lang?

Oh yes, this will probably regain it's title of "Groupset of the people" sulit to.......And minding this is the first 12speed "mechanical" which has never be available for Shimano users in the past(rb).......so this is a plus points for Shimano users...and mechanical users Hindi na nilala kailangan mag result sa ibang brands, eto na siguro Ang pinakagood option if may naghahanap Ng 12speed mechanical, I know may campagnolo na option I don't know if my sram na mechanical 12speed for rb..........

kung amateur or recreational rider ka yung extra gear na 12 tooth versus 11 speed 105 na lumang version wala halos pagkaka iba sa performance lalo na kung hinde naman puro paahon ang pinupuntahan rides nyo palagi, marketing strategy iyan ng shimano para maka pag charge sila ng extra sa panibagong model. Unless kung tipo ka ng rider na you give more emphasis na mag display ng bike sa mga tambayan than riding.

@@milarabeltran8248 exactly! Yung 2x10 nga overkill na sa ahon e kasi may small chainring naman. Pang bike pageantry na nga lang talaga yan. Uso kasi yang yabangan ng bike ngayon. Pagaanan ng bike paramihan ng gears. Palibhasa may dala dalang 10 kilos na taba sa tyan.
