Yes she is and always will be. She passed today, but people are never going to forget her. Her songwriting was such a talent...many singers have to rely on the writing of others. She did that at times but also had that unique writing talent, like Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, and others. Her family is one that her fans have kind of gotten to know...they know the names of her children, they know who her siblings are, etc. They are down home folks! Loretta Lynn is still humble after 58 years of successful touring and singing. She is in her 80s and still dishing it out. She is the only woman who wrote all of her songs and made it. How wonderful ! I would be proud too. It is so good to see Loretta's health improved since last year. What a true blue country lady who paved the way for so many other women in the music business. Please check out her greatest hits album that has the gold star burst. She did not write all of her songs. You will find number of songs on that album that were written by others in the early 60's. She is a super star for sure and a very talented lady, but she did not write all of her songs. I'm glad she is well.
