I idolized Loretta Young as a kid. Her shows were always a message served with a velvet glove . I wish she didn’t have to deny that she was the natural mother of her daughter that was fathered by Clark Gable. She went to her grave with that secret. It adds a bit of tarnish to an otherwise exemplary life. Thanks for posting this film…

My mother love d this motiin picture. My understanding is that Loretta Young was a Christian in Hollywood. Sociopaths, "harden their heat." An insult to the dead, someone said, "You can't get by on just a smile." Someone said, "Boys don't cry." Such cynicism gets it's reward in loneliness and hearbreak. On pain of death, grown men cry. We all NEED somebody and that innocent smile brings more joy than money when a person is lonely in need of a friend. Some people worship monry. When a person is young thry can get away with their "love of money." But, when old, dying and if sick with pain money just does not mean very much. The cynic dies, mind and heart grow cold, then the brain stops. Eddy, Nelson Eddy, a sentimental song "Sweet Mystery of Life..." never rejection "LOVE..." Just lovesick with spiritual love, nasty gossip because they hurt they lash-out like a mad dog to hurt anyone's who does love. Strange, peculiar prople filled with hate. Poison and wicked thoughts stab out with gossip about love they can not feel. Spiritual laws stll exist even for psyhopathsl. Be warned...".It is (spiritual) love that rules forevermore."

Pleasant holiday film. Loretta Young shines as it's her movie. Still gorgeous as ever. Only weak casting were the lame and unappealing Arthur Hill as her son and even worse, Ron Leibman as the almost buffoonish P.I. named Morris Huffner (the character's name is cartoonish in itself).
