I'm really bummed about the lack of Battletech Books available on Audible (the few that "are" available are abridged, and the reviews say they basically hit the highlights without any of the context that MAKES them highlights). My wife has been buying them for me to read, paperback. I was debating, today, how much trouble I might find myself in, if any, if I did a KZbin Audiobook series. :) Of course, I'm a very monotone reader and very likely to put people to sleep, so someone else will probably do a better job. :)

So amazing to listen too. Pride and Arrogance vs Logic and Cunning. Tukayyid represents the best and worst of the Clans; how ferocious they can be, but utterly single-minded once the blood starts pumping. Meanwhile Comstar's only real fault was that they brought greenhorns, practically recruits, to fight a veteran force, and that was only because they had no other choice. Keep up the excellent work CR, you do a wonderful job

I love the lowkey comedy of the Nova Cats loosing horribly because they had the bright idea of resorting to nothing but lurm boats and promptly running out of ammo.

According to the newest book "Forever Faithful", the Nova Cats seem to place much emphasis on premonitions and clearvoyance, so much so that several characters are shown to have relatively accurate knowledge about future events and the roles of individual people. How does that fit in with their catastrophic misjudgement in landing tactics and equipment? Or was this something they developed after the invasion failed?

I think the people who can kind of sort of see future events have a limited amount of uses before it becomes too much of a strain on their minds. Also you can imagine the Nova Cats would have wanted to go into the battle without this kind of advantage, preferring to win on their own martial skill and prowess instead of using a ritual so to speak.

@@CriticalRocket I'm mostly leaning towards differences in interpretations between the different authors of both the novels and the original sourcebooks, but so far I have only this one to go by, since none of the other audiobooks feature the Nova Cats in any significant way. They're certainly intriguing with how they handle their visions and those individuals in the clan who are most proficient with them. How they conducted themselves on Tukkayyid just felt somewhat contradictory to how they approach battles in the novel (I'm reluctant to go into detail, to avoid spoilers).
