I'm always fascinated by those clan mechs with weirdly conservative designs. This thing has modest speed, good armor, plenty of ammo, and no heat issues. It's not trying to set the world on fire, just be a simple, cheap second-line support mech. Feels like a succession wars era inner sphere mech refit with clan weapons. Things like the Corvis are great to have on hand for a clan force, to ensure that you aren't completely outnumbered and outweighed by an enemy force of cheaper inner sphere mechs.

The problem is there’s some better options. That said, it’s not the worst. I’d rather a battle cobra for its better role as a long range sniper with elemental emotional support

For a medocre urban trooper moving at IS Heavy/trooper speeds, it had such a massively successful child. It's not even the best 4/6/4 low medium clan trooper in its own book!

I love this thing. My mind went right to the same place re: player reward. My initial thoughts being that it would be a great goal for a campaign to steal and return one to the inner sphere for reverse engineering (to help show how the clans progressed to omnis). A merc company hired by NAIS or someone similar to grab one or two, with any surplus being part of the payment.

FOR CORAX!!!! Oooops wrong universe LOL To be serious, the midsection cockpit does make sense. But, it would be better if the weapons were mounted higher for firing from cover. Be a good urban ambush mech.

I agree there but I do like how the art evokes the Stormcrow but also suggests it as a forerunner to that machine.
