I don't think music like this is stylised for nostalgia sake. He's not really trying to make his sound 80's because there is a synth there, they're sounds that have been there in electronic music since they were introduced. A series with kids on bikes happened, it was another generations Instagram filter view of the 80's, now it's gone. Better music lives on beyond the fads. edit: I realise that read slightly aggressively, but it wasn't... honestly!

Couple in bathtub were individually abducted and implanted with a mind-altering larva, manipulated into draining their accounts. Second victimizer (man with axe) abducts and experiments on them, removes the matured worms that grew in them and lets them go leaving them to lose their memories of both experiences. Implants worms in the pigs on his farm for further study. Several years later the couple meet and form a relationship and begin experiencing unexplained sensations and emotions. Through some weirdness of the worms, they experience a connection from two pigs at the previous victimizer's farm having piglets together. Victimizer flips out, bags the piglets and throws them into the river. The couple flip out feeling an impossible loss and act erratically, hiding out in their home convinced something awful is happening to them. The larvae in the piglets are released into the river and turn local fauna a strange blue, which the second victimizer just so happens to find and collect. Honestly, this movie is weird as hell.

But what about the axe? It is already in the bathroom when the couple enter. I think that it is the man who later takes it and goes to the farm, then he takes/steals the piglets and drops them into the river. Maybe the farm belongs to the couple.

There are literally three men, the guy in the tub is one of the victims, the other guy dragging the axe is the one who killed, bagged and tossed the piglets. The third isn’t shown here. You’re being shown events in different locations with different people. There are two axes.

The couple discovered that the pigs at the farm have something strange (maybe they did some experiments). The girl is hurt at the hand by one of them. They run home in panic, lock into the bathroom, but then the man has the brilliant idea of killing the pigs and throwing the piglets into the river, causing a catastrophe.

I've never seen Upstream Color, but I'm going to take a stab at the meaning of the video anyway. -Zombie pig chases math teacher and wife -One of them kills zombie pig and throws it in a sack, in the river -They drive '87 Volvo furiously to reach safety -Woman and husband camp out in bathtub waiting for return of zombie pig overlord. -Zombie pig uses dying wish to make more zombie dust -Zombie dust infects worm in tree -(implied) zombie tree eats man and woman

I never saw Primer. UC, on the other hand.... It made all kinds of sense. Many angles of little bits of sense, strewn together in a way that would probably be well received by the psychotic mind... I don't even think I knew what it was about when I got done watching it. Definitely couldn't tell you now. There was blue. And a small keyboard that I used to have. And some death... I want to watch it again sometime.
