One of the most emotional songs and videos I've ever witnessed. Lorna Shore is not just brutal because this was pure beauty and emotion.

Changing the vocalist isn`t working out that often.... in Lornas case it`s the best thing that could happen. They fit perfect, so much talent.

Changing vocalist, as I have read, is something that most of the times just means death to the band or a slow/fast downfall. And I can see, and I know, why, because 50% of the band consist and creates image of the band by vocalist, and 50% is instrumentals, but instrumental members are more, so changing one of the members is just changing 10 or 20% of the band's brand or image and sound that not always changes, since they tend to look for people that can play stuff that they played before and have that...brand styling basically. Lorna is an exception in this case, they found their future. When Howard Jones left Killswitch Engage, the KSE wasn't like it was with Howard in it, because his voice is iconic, and the style of the band made both great, complementing each other, just like Lorna and Will.

The ending for me makes me think of how abrupt and sudden death can be… I know that it was cut off at the end because it’s a trilogy of songs, but that’s what it reminds me of -the feeling of sadness of a loved one dying, then the anger, and finally the feeling of emptiness and nothingness. 😭 Beautifully done.

I was thinking that too! They could have endet it different, but they didn't. Think it was on purpose

100% on purpose. The last line gives it away. Caught in between two melodies. We are getting blindsided by something we aren't expecting or getting a nuke dropped on us.

Exactly what I felt. The song was about the abrupt ending life can have of those we love and the early cut leaves you with a sense of "wait what? I wasn't ready". Definitely intended.

Your reaction is one of two I’ve been looking forward too, and it did not disappoint, just like you said, this isn’t just the best Lorna Shore song to date, this might be THE best song I’ve heard in my life. It is a masterpiece. And it hits really close to home with me as I lost my first wife in a hospital bed just like this, so it definitely brings out emotions I haven’t felt in quite a long time. Thank you for your reaction!

Does this class as a "heavy sad song" or a "sad heavy song"? I dont know, but what i do know is its fucking incredible!! The emotion not only in the song in Wills voice is insane. Will and LS are continuing to break the boundaries of Deathcore.

Bro, idk why it took me this long to find this reaction to this video, my b. Dude, you are the straight up embodiment of the lesson every newbie to metal learns, "dude, all i ever see is the tattoos and piercings and intensity, i had no idea these guys were this chill in real life. Actually, i think they're some of the nicest people I've ever met". Everything i see you review and discuss is from the heart (as i see it) and watching your reaction THIS long since it came out still took me on the feels and respect train like I've never been on it, thank you bro. Definitely liked and subscribed and hope you're doing great.

That chorus and bridge are so powerful, you can truly feel Will's emotion and none of the instrumentals ever outweighed the others. Lorna Shore is truly something special when you can a song sound so brutal but have such strong and meaningful lyrics that are only amplified by Will's crazy range as a vocalist. This song is one I'd rarely deem as perfect, an absolute masterpiece

They glide so well together while being very different. The first one ending on. " Am I just a ghost just like you, caught between the Seams of two intertwining melodies? " Leading into the second song, where hope is gone, and he might be alive, but living like a ghost, the second song is the time between melodies. So the ending of the first song leads to the expressions of the second. And then to the 3 where it about getting past the empty space between melodies. Where he is no longer a ghost just acting, but the emotions he is feeling is acting through him. Pain, anger, everything. The attempt in the second part was the uncontrolled action, the lack of everything. While the choice in the 3 was made with and understanding what he felt his life had become. Ending the trilogy with the words " Dancing like flames, after all that I've done I'll salt the earth and disappear in a sea of fire " Dancing like Flames being part 1 All that I've done being part 2 In a Sea of fire being part 3 And the 3 also bind the first part into it again, after the half part of the song, with the sort of breakdown, the melody and flow goes through some of the same waves we heard in the first song- ending with the bells and string actually playing through the same notes, but it start before that leading up to it. So both the story and the music is brought back together at the end. And even the music video that is telling the story plays into this, but with the band. They play in the same location. In the first one it rains, its a storm, the storm of loss, not knowing what to do or think, its all just chaos. Part 2 has snow. You are no longer in shock, the chaos have gone away. But all it has left is a cold feeling of emptiness, there is nothing. everything is frozen solid, like every thing ended in a second, time stand still. and life can not move on. Part 3, when there is flames, and its not for anger. its about ending. Fire burns away life, but it also leave something new to grow. He does not do what he does out of the blue, he have said his goodbye, and are ready for what comes next. And he burns away the rest of him in this life. Like he says in the first " A life without you is not meant for me " so with fire he erase himself, instead of spending a life frozen and stuck in time. Same way life starts and end the same place, in all forms. no matter the start or the end. You never know where you start. And when you are at the end, it does not really matter. It was the choices and feelings between the melodies you experiences along the way that guided you to what ever end you had. The two things in life that does not matter to you, is the start, and the ending. because you are not there to deal with them or experience them. Yet it is those two things that mean the most when all is said and done. Because what ever you did with your life, those you loved, and those you hurt is all because your life started. And your actions in between the melodies is what you will be remembered for.

I want to preface this by saying that I've watched the video with Will and TheCharismaticVoice where they video his vocal chords, so I understand and appreciate how talented he is. However, my ears just can't get past the vocals to truly enjoy the entire song. I looked up the lyrics and they are beautiful and I love the instrumentals. I could understand him a little more in the bridge, so I was able to enjoy that part. Are there a few bands out there that you all recommend that have a similar instrumental sound but the vocals are a bit less harsh? Or is that just what comes along with deathcore?
@jandynmarkham317
@jandynmarkham317 2 жыл бұрын
The more you listen to these types of vocals, the more you get used to them and it's easier to hear. Not going to lie, I still love lyrics videos. I hope people give you good recommendations. I have two but I'm not sure if they'll be that helpful. But Jinjer and Spiritbox both have awesome screams and really great clean vocals. I think maybe you might get in with White Chapel.
