My girlfriend almost died from a respiratory infection two weeks ago. And watching this video and listening to this song just reminds me of the soul crushing helplessness and despair that comes with seeing the love of your life slip away. God damn. The first time I watched this, I started straight up ugly crying during and after the solo.

I def say this song was a huge culmination of each band member's struggle since last year. I know Will had lost his uncle who he saw as his only father figure, Adam was dealing with extreme depression and thoughts of suicide, and Austin having to deal with his herniated disc and caused him to gain weight and become emotionally depressed due to the pain. The entire song felt like every member poured their absolute soul into it, Will, Adam, Austin, Andrew, and Michael. All amazing artists/musicians. \m/ I can't wait for the LP to come out. It's gonna fucking slay dude!!!!

The last time I cried while listening to a metal song was when I heard Jari Mäenpää's/Wintersun's song "Loneliness (Winter)." And when I think about why I cried during that song and this song, it makes sense; both songs are about the loss of a loved one. I was especially touched by the section where Will speaks in hushed tones as he gets more and more emotional to the point where he screams, and I can't help but compare that to the pain in Jari's voice (especially) in the chorus for Loneliness. I never expected to cry from sadness because of not only one metal song, but _two_ of them! I am so happy that both Wintersun and Lorna Shore exist and have written and performed such amazing works of art.

I want to recognize that actor, because without even knowing what the lyrics were, I recognized that look. I've been there, sitting in a hospital room watching the other half of my soul laying in the bed and hoping they make it (thankfully she did). This song and this video perfectly show that experience of being in such deep dispair that you can't even react because you're just not capable of expressing that much pain. These guys are killing it and I would love to see them score a movie.

@th3n3wc4d2 жыл бұрын
This song is pretty much perfection. The way the intro swells, there's that haunting melody with the foreboding dark chugs does incredible work setting up the atmosphere. At the end, Will's whispered lines, building back up into the roars, but then with so much emotion behind them, the subtle breaks in his voice which is normally flawless hits so hard. Even the abrupt ending, which first listen, was so unsatisfying, but it's kind of like, that's the point.
