C'est magnifique Lorraine ! Franchement, je connaissais tes talents de violoniste mais je n'avais jamais vraiment ou l'occasion de t'entendre à la contrebasse, ou il y a bien longtemps en tout cas.... Eh bien, cette sensibilité à tous les niveaux, j'entends par là les détails que tu apportes dans chaque phrase, chaque son, c'est juste super à écouter !! Sans compter comme la virtuosité sur une contrebasse doit pas être un cadeau et comme tu la gères x') je te souhaite juste une super continuation !

Lizzy Snape Pour moi la justesse en raison des long mouvements pour les notes,c'est pas évident, mais la richesse du son est tellement unique! Encoire une fois félicitation, tu as une belle musicalité!

100%. I know Im 9 yrs late to this party but it just showed up. Also I got the feeling the accompanyist was not listening to the soloist throughout. Literally playing twice as loud as she should have been through much of the performance. Lorraine normally has wonderful intonation but I do not think she could hear herself clearly through long portions of this performance. 😊

wow, very good playing indeed! I've enjoyed it a lot. Brava! But who is the pianist?! Unfortunately it destroys the whole performance. Out of all the missed notes one could compose another sonata;) So, keep practicing, keep singing on the bass like you do...and never ask this pianist to accompany you! Greetings!

Why does this stupid pianist play so loud? It is unbelieveable that such a person can play the accompaniment in a concours. She destroys everything. The poor bassist, playing the last part, has to struggle not with her piece, but with the accompaniment. Unfortunately, I have to say that this no unique case, it's rather normality. Very often, pianists are so selfish that they want to hear but themselves.

Homeboy do you have *any* idea how hard it is to control the volume of the keys especially when trying to do it quietly? Especially under pressure? It's not an issue of "ugh pianists selfish!!!" it's an issue of "oh god people are watching with high expectations" and so with stress your control can go haywire. Trust me - my recording may be shite, my own piano playing is amateur at its kindest, but I've been there. Control is HARD. Pressure makes it HARD. It's not about pianists wanting to hear themselves. Plus, this might not be the issue on the pianist's part! From what I can hear this is more the quality of the actual microphone recording it - often these pick up trebles louder and sharper than bass, which might make this a problem with a piano accompaniment that uses higher notes than the actual soloist who uses lower notes. I'd like you to play the piano in front of a crowd and see how your volume control on the keys goes, and I'd like to record it on a Poundland-value microphone and we'll see how it sounds.

Pas faux, mais sois indulgent ! C'est dur d'accompagner, même si ces morceaux-là n'ont rien de redoutable pour le clavier. Les nuances sont de toutes façons un véritable problème en musique classique. Et on ne manque pas, hélas, de ces pianistes tapeurs, que le public adule souvent. C'est déjà bien que des pianistes se risquent à jouer avec les autres. Ceci étant, si ton commentaire est parfaitement juste musicalement, il ne faut pas traiter cette jeune femme de "stupide". Enfin, je pense.
