No way and I say this as an American. He was great on midsomer - cool from the get go! But I had no idea he was welsh!!!I heard him speak in his normal voice and I thought “ oh my god he’s a Welshman !”- the only reason I know what welsh sounds like is from Hinterland.

He is Welsh on Midsomer Murders too, though? Personally, as a non-native speaker, I still find it hard to really recognise a Welsh accent unless it's very strong.
