At the end instead of doing a zig zag stitch cut close to the stitches and when you turn it do a top stitch and your seam will be inclosed like a French seam ......great video

Found this wonderful video and pattern when one of my son's asked for me to "figure out how to make one" for his colleague who had found a tortilla warmer on line that was $50!! So now Ive made several for my sons and their friends. Everyone that sees them in use is asking for one. Thanks for this idea/pattern! I made a couple for gifts and one for myself, and I use mine at least once every week or two. I'll probably be making more for gifts. They'd be great to add to a gift "taco kit" with all the supplies for a taco night.

I like the way this pattern sees the 2 pieces together, better then the other one. Also I quilted my 2 piece's before sewing together

I find it works better on the step to sew the inside seam, to start from the 'top' and stitch (back stitch 2nd time to lock stitches) to the spot where the opening starts. Flip and repeat, overlap stitch then backstitching at the beginning to lock stitches. Easier than starting to sew from the opening point and I backstitch a couple time to reinforce opening. .

They make special batting for going in the microwave. I have heard cotton batting can catch fire in the microwave. Just thought I’d mention it. 😉

It’s always the preferred and recommended thread for microwave. I didn’t and I’ve never had an issue but yes you should use cotton

I used a poly blend thread. I’ve never had an issue with it but cotton is the recommended thread for microwaves.
