Thanks. How can someone speak so casually and invitingly and make 18,000 people feel like an intimate hang in your living room. It's a like house concert, but at a very large house!

I had to move to a different section these 3 young girls were talking constantly the entire time during every song like the show was a coffee shop. I was thinking how great it was at the beginning of the show that no one was talking/yelling during show and by the 5th or 6th song these 3 young girls show up and sit behind me and begin their yammering nonstop

that’s ridiculous. its no wonder he doesnt sell front rows anymore because i can imagine the same shit used to happen up there. people with too much money who dont even appreciate the 74yo guy whos still up there doing his thing

@@jimpowers10411 I often tell people to STFU right to their face. My wife hates when I do that. I tell them "people paid to see this show, so can you STFU?"" They usually don't.

Waited far too long to bring this one back in the set.....and then he needlessly bashes the song...it's actually one of his best deep cut rockers that sounds great when played with power - see SITA for evidence of that. I would've loved to see him pull this one out once in a while during his tours for The Bridge or Strom Front.
@howtodoitdude16627 ай бұрын
At this age he bashes many of his songs because they were written when he was young and naive. I personally don’t like when he does that.

@@girlfromthebronxbywayofelb7288 It wasn't, but as an Angeleno I would of been honored if he would of played it in LA. Playing it in NYC added to the insult. I guess he really hates Los Angeles.

When he said it was a song he never played since the 80s, I was wondering why he never plays it. It’s because it’s shit 😂 even billy thinks so. However it was still an awesome show
@KyleCourounis Жыл бұрын
Excuse yourself? Just because you didn't know doesn't mean "it's shit." I've seen Billy 10 times (11 in June) and I am so fucking jealous I was not there for this. It's such a great deep cut. The lyrics are humorous, it's got a fun little electric piano riff, and a very catchy chorus. He also sounds way better than I thought he would on it, albeit a full step down from the original. So get outta here with your silly comment...
@jetsnation14 Жыл бұрын
@@KyleCourounis I agree for 73 he sounds very good, however this song felt very repetitive, with the same guitar and piano riff nearly the whole song, it is not catchy, and the chorus just felt bland. And on top of that it didn’t sound like Billy. Like Piano Man, Scenes, Vienna, My Life. All iconic Billy Joel songs that follow a Billy like theme that connect them. This just felt random. Sometimes that’s good and works, but it didn’t here.
@KyleCourounis Жыл бұрын
@@jetsnation14 I apologize about the bitterness of my comment earlier, I got a little pissed off lol - but I don't think Billy has a theme at all, and that's part of the beauty of his body of work. You mentioned 4 songs, all of them hits except for Vienna (though it's become a modern hit). He has over 120. His deep cuts are often better than his hits, largely because they're not overplayed as hell. I just prefer almost any of his album tracks to his hits.

I think it’s just a product of being on one of his earlier albums, Streetlife Serenade, while his most famous songs came after that album
