Los Angeles apologizes for Zoot Suit Riots 80 years later

Los Angeles County officials along with the city council have issued an apology for the "shameful" Zoot Suit Riots 80 years later. In 1943, white, uniform servicemen attacked young Mexican, Latino, Filipino and Black men for wearing the suits in a series of riots that swept the city for a week.

That's like saying that because Hitler died, the German government wasn't responsible for genocide. The government is an entity by itself, it's not just specific people. If we go by your logic, the United States technically doesn't exist because all the people that started the country are dead. Hey, Pachuco! Hey! Summer '43, the man's gunnin' for me...Fell in love with Zoot Suits and the culture immediately when I saw the Mask as a kid! I find it interesting that it was black people who started the culture because Pachucos and Mexicans are literally the poster image of the era. Glad that the culture still lives today. My father in law was in Los Angeles during these race riots. He was a brave and strong man that fought these bullies in the streets of Boyle Heights with his bare hands. Hats off to Antonio (Tony) De La Rosa. One punch and you were down and out! My father in law passed away about one year ago.
